In a recent interview with 3W-Wrestling, Zachary Wentz gave his thoughts about his recent brief TNA X-Division Championship reign and making history as X-Division Champion. Wentz stated “It means a lot because I feel like my style of wrestling is very much X-Division Championship style wrestling. I feel like the X-Division is the division in professional wrestling, and I feel like the X-Division style has completely influenced professional wrestling as a whole. If you look at the styles on other matches now, they’re very much X-Division type matches, so it definitely meant a lot to me, especially like I’ve said before, look at all the legends that have held the title, but not even just that. My brother, Trey [Miguel], he’s held that title, and he was a great champion, so it meant a lot to me. Yeah, it may have been a short reign, but that’s okay because I made history. At the end of the day, people aren’t going to look at that reign and go, ‘Oh, that was short.’ They’re gonna look at that reign and say, ‘Oh, he made history by being the first X-Division Champion to be featured on WWE television.’ So it means a lot to me.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
