Yuya Uemura Arm Injury Update – Uemura Suffered Torn Triceps & Out of Action for Six Months

As noted before, Yuya Uemura has been out of action for New Japan Pro Wrestling since this past mid-August due to an arm-related injury.

NJPW provided an update on Thursday stating that Uemura had suffered a torn triceps injury and will be out of action for the next six months as a result.

Official press release:

Yuya Uemura to miss six months with triceps tear

On August 10 in Sendai, Yuya Uemura sustained an injury to his arm during his match with Yota Tsuji. Though he went on to win the match, Uemura was forced to withdraw from the G1 and has not been active since.

Medical evaluation of the injury returned the diagnosis of a torn triceps. The injury will require six months to fully recover.
Uemura wanted to deliver the following message to fans about his recovery:

‘I want to wrestle so badly right now, but I have some way to go in my daily life let alone in the ring. What I want is to fire up all of Japan with pro-wrestling, and to be the strongest there is. That will take some time, but I’m going to do what it takes to heal up and get there.

I’ll be doing all I can over this time to rest up and be even hotter when I come back. The Heat Storm will fire up your heart!’

New Japan Pro-Wrestling joins fans in wishing Uemura all the best for a full recovery.

Hogan stated “I called Eric (Bischoff) up, ‘Who is your third man?’ We’re going to go with Sting.’ ‘Bro, he’s not WWE.’ Scott and Kev are WWE. Sting has nothing to do (with WWE). I’m WWE from head to toe. I’m the third man. Eric goes, ‘Really, will you do it?’ ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ Eric didn’t even believe I would do it. I flew on a jet to Daytona and hid out in a hotel room. I told Eric, ‘Call me when the last match is in the ring before the main event.’ Eric didn’t even think I was coming from the hotel. He had Sting ready to go. They didn’t believe I would do it. I had creative control. I never used it. Never used it the whole time. I didn’t use it this night either. When I walked out, Scott and Kevin almost shit. They had no idea I was coming out. It was kinda cool.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
