JBL Comments on His Reason for His Recent Non-WWE Wrestling Appearances

A recent episode of the Huge Pop Radio podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield as the guest.

One of the topics discussed included JBL’s thoughts about the reason for his recent wrestling appearances outside of WWE being due to him not wanting his run with Baron Corbin in WWE to be the last memory of his wrestling career.

“I hope to do something. You mentioned Baron Corbin, and I feel bad because if you’re going to blame somebody, blame me. I’m the old guy. I don’t want that to be my last memory from wrestling. If my last memory was Rey Mysterio and 23 seconds, that’s how I wanted to go out. The Von Erichs were going into the Hall of Fame, it was in Texas. It was a perfect swan song. Then, I came back and it didn’t work. I don’t want that to be the last. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have some ideas, but hopefully that won’t be the swan song.”

This past Sunday was notable for Athena reaching the milestone of 646 days as ROH Women’s World Champion and surpassing the record of 645 days previously held by Samoa joe for the longest ever title reign in Ring of Honor history.

Athena recently reflected on Twitter about her historic record breaking title reign and thanked her minions for their support and her trolls for giving her the motivation to achieve her new record.

.@ringofhonor

I am thankful for all the trolls that give me the motivation to prove them wrong. I am thankful to every hussy I have beaten along the way to show everyone that I am the THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!
