More on Giulia’s WWE Debut at NXT No Mercy 2024 & WWE’s Current Plans for Giulia

As noted before, former Stardom and Marigold talent Giulia made her official debut for WWE’s NXT brand at this past Sunday’s NXT No Mercy 2024 event in Denver, Colorado.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that his sources stated that NXT officials had rehearsed a segment for Giulia’s debut prior to their No Mercy 2024 event with a producer and stock music being used as stand ins for Giulia. Brennan reported that this was different compared to how NXT officials usually prepares for surprise appearances with NXT lead official Shawn Michaels usually being in the stand in role for surprise debuts and returns in the past.

In regards to WWE’s current plans for Giulia’s presentation in the company, Brennan reported that those spoken to stated that while “Gloria” was attainable for Giulia’s theme music in NXT, this was something that was never strongly considered by WWE officials. Brennan reported a new theme was produced specifically for her debut instead. Brennan also reported that the excess amount of fog and lights being turned off for her debut appearance were done intentionally in order to draw out the surprise even longer. One source spoken to reportedly brought up the lack of a tron for Giulia until she emerged from the fog as part of the presentation for her official debut.

Brennan reported that there was a lot of secrecy regarding NXT officials plans for Giulia’s debut with those spoken to stated that they did not see her backstage until moments before the finish of the NXT Women’s Championship match between Jaida Parker and Roxanne Perez.

In regards to WWE’s current creative plans for Giulia, Brennan reported that he has long been told by his sources that WWE officials had big plans for a Giulia vs. Roxanne Perez matchup dating all the way back to this past April’s NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 event. Brennan also reported that it is currently not known if Perez was kept in the dark regarding Giulia’s appearance at this past Sunday’s event. One source spoken to reportedly stated that they wouldn’t be surprised if Perez was kept out of the loop once again for the plans involving Giulia.

In regards to if WWE had ever considered anyone else for Giulia’s spot at NXT’s event, Brennan reported that he was met with firm no’s when asked. Brennan reported that WWE officials currently have plans to debut the likes of Delta and Stephanie Vaquer at later dates.

Giulia’s hard date for the start of her WWE NXT career reportedly had been set to be at NXT No Mercy 2024 allowing her to finish her commitments with Marigold. Giulia’s final date with Marigold reportedly was not originally scheduled and instead was added in later in order for her to compete in a gauntlet match for her farewell against anyone who wanted to wrestler her before she left. Those spoken to within NXT reportedly stated that there was no heat on Giulia for extending her time with Marigold due to NXT officials knowing that it was a possibly even prior to her fractured wrist injury.

Brennan reported that Giulia’s peers in Japan spoken to all stated that they were legitimately happy to see her on the big stage in the US. Several NXT talents spoken to reportedly stated that they were excited to see the additional star power brought to their brand and specifically the women’s division.

In regards to WWE’s current plans for the length of Giulia’s stay on their NXT brand, Brennan reported that those spoken to stated that Giulia had signed a long term deal with the company and her tenure in NXT will be relative to how fast she takes to the American television style. WWE officials currently have plans for Giulia to be one of the top three stars for their NXT brand once NXT moves to The CW.
