More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for September 25th
The September 25th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings but suffered a slight decline in key demographic rankings. This week’s show was notable for being the Dynamite Grand Slam 2024 special.
AEW drew 702,000 viewers and a 0.23 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 3rd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases this week was due to the large increase from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 26.7% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the stiff sports competition that night from the 2024 WNBA Playoffs and the decline from their Over 50 viewership group, which its percentage was not given. Meltzer reported that AEW’s lead-in programming Big Bang Theory drew 723,000 viewers and a 0.14 key demographic rating.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2024 WNBA Playoffs Game 2 of Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun drew 2,537,000 viewers on ESPN and the 2024 WNBA Playoffs Game 2 of Phoenix Mercury vs. Minnesota Lynx 1,218,000 viewers on ESPN, Survivor drew 4,466,000 viewers on CBS, Expedition X drew 767,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, The Challenge drew 382,000 viewers on MTV, and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City drew 397,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 341,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 76,000 viewers, Females 18-34 had 38,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 130,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 had 70,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership skew was 60.4% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 17.9% in overall viewership and down 6.6% in key demographic viewership. AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 11.6% compared to the same week last year.

The September 20th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a large gain in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 327,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 16th place.
Detailed key demographic viewership breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the very large increase from their overall key demographic viewership, which was up 65.3% compared to the prior week’s show. Of that overall key demographic increase, AEW’s younger key demographic viewership group was up 20% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the College football game of Illinois vs. Nebraska drew 4,213,000 viewers on FOX, the College football game of Stanford vs. Syracuse drew 1,365,000 viewers on ESPN, the College football game of San Jose State vs. Washington State drew 542,000 viewers on The CW, On Patrol Live drew 609,000 viewers on REELZ Channel, and 90 Day Fiance First Look drew 396,000 viewers on TLC.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 162,000 viewers. AEW’s 18-34 had 28,000 viewers, Females 18-34 had 10,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 80,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 had 44,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 66.7% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 4.1% in overall viewership and down 0.6% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 16.7% compared to the same week last year.

The September 21st episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership, a large increase in key demographic rankings, and a small increase in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 347,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 16th place.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the very large increase from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was up 45.5% compared to the prior week’s show. Of that overall key demographic increase, AEW’s younger key demographic viewership group was up 28.6% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the stiff sports competition that night from College football.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the College football game of Tennessee vs. Oklahoma drew 6,271,000 viewers on ABC, the College football game of Iowa vs. Minnesota drew 1,892,000 viewers on NBC, the College football game of Baylor vs. Colorado drew 3,639,000 viewers on FOX, the College football game of Purdue vs. Oregon State drew 452,000 viewers on The CW, the College football game of Miami vs. South Florida drew 1,284,000 viewers on ESPN, the College football game of California vs. Florida State drew 887,000 viewers on ESPN2, and On Patrol Live drew 593,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 163,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 29,000 viewers, Females 18-34 had 25,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 90,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 had 19,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 73% in favor of males. Meltzer reported that week’s show male viewership skew was higher than usual and likely due to more male viewers had watched alone than usual since the show averaged 1.31 viewers per home.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 38.3% in overall viewership and down 30.6% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 33.3% compared to the same week last year.
