Bryan Danielson Comments on “Who Would Ever Let Go of This Guy?” About Swerve Strickland

Undisputed held a recent interview with Bryan Danielson. One of the topics discussed included Danielson’s thoughts about his belief of Swerve Strickland being a perfect example of a wrestler who made the most out of a move from WWE to AEW and finding a new atmosphere where he could best thrive in for his career.

“Swerve was perfect at All In. I mean, he’s incredible. He just signed a new contract with AEW–and that is one of the benefits of having two mainstream wrestling companies in the United States. WWE didn’t see value in him, and they let him go. When Swerve came here, he said he was going to become AEW champion–and he did.

You watch him and ask, ‘Who would ever let go of this guy?’ He just wasn’t given the opportunity to be his best self. And that goes both ways–I don’t want it to sound like, ‘Oh, evil WWE, they don’t let their talent be their best selves.’ Some people will thrive here. There are people who will thrive in both places, there are people who will be underutilized. That’s the benefit of having two major companies in the United States. If someone doesn’t see value in you, you can try somewhere else.”

In a recent interview with WILK News Radio’s The Morning News with Nancy and Jason, Orange Cassidy gave his thoughts about the origins of his The Conglomeration stable in AEW. Cassidy stated “Right now, I’m going to have to say, I love watching Willow Nightingale. She is a superstar and she is rising and continues to rise. She has been traveling all around the world and doing spectacular stuff. Willow is part of our group. We have a group of people that have been lost in this shuffle, this giant roster, that we really didn’t have a place and we all came together and we’re called the Conglomeration. You can look that up. I love watching Mark Briscoe, he’s part of it, and Kyle O’Reilly. You have Mark Briscoe is more brawling, hard-hitting, rough and tough. Kyle is a very technical, skilled striker. Then, I put my hands in my pockets. We do a pretty good job of filling out the spectrum of professional wrestling.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
