Tony Khan Comments on “It’s Safe to Say AEW on TBS & TNT Is Here to Stay”

As noted before, AEW’s television deal with Warner Bros Discovery is currently expected to expire at the end of this year while their exclusivity window for talks with WBD for a potential new media rights deal expired at the end of this past July. WBD is currently believed to have offered AEW a new deal that is worth “at least double” of their current deal.

Prior to the start of Friday’s AEW Collision and Rampage shows in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced on Twitter that AEW was on the “one yard line” at the most important time in the company’s history.

Following AEW’s Collision show, Khan gave a speech to the live crowd stating “I think it’s safe to say, I feel pretty good to say, AEW on TBS and TNT, I think, is here to stay.” Khan did not provide any other details regarding the current situation of AEW’s talks with WBD for a new media rights deal.

Ricochet Comments on “AEW Is The Gas Can To Rekindle The Fire” of His Wrestling Career

A recent episode of The Ringer’s The Masked Man Show podcast featured Ricochet as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ricochet’s thoughts about what excites him about him joining AEW.

“Being able to rekindle that passion, rekindle that love that I started doing it 21 years ago for. To go back to the roots of it and really open up that side of my life again and just rekindle that passion that was obviously still there, it just…my gas can was a little empty. The fire was still there, I just needed some gas to throw in the fire, rekindle that fire, and I think AEW is that gas can.”

Ricochet also gave his thoughts about if he currently feels like a new person since joining AEW.

“I always feel like the new person. I always feel, I was the same, even now because a lot of them are younger than me, which is crazy, but I was always the young kid, I was the young one and the new guy. Obviously my body feels like it’s a vet because my body has taken a lot of bumps and beatings. But I really just try to go in open-minded. I try to go in, again, I really do feel new. This is a new place. Although it’s my friends and everything feels comfortable, I am new, and I do feel new, so I want to do everything that I can, put extra work in to catch up basically to all these guys because they’re all doing some good stuff. Everybody’s doing good stuff here. I know I’m new and I know it’s a big thing that I’m here, but I want to be able to contribute and contribute and contribute as much as possible, just like everybody else is doing because everybody’s on top of their game.”
