Jon Moxley Explains Reasons For His Attack on Bryan Danielson at All Out 2024

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show featured Jon Moxley explaining his reasons for his and Claudio Castagnoli’s attack on Bryan Danielson and Castagnoli & PAC splitting from the Blackpool Combat Club.

At the start of the show, Moxley was seen in the parking lot and talked about how him and Danielson were building something together. Moxley stated that this was something that couldn’t be destroyed and something they could be proud of. This led to footage being shown of the medics checking on Danielson and carrying him backstage after Moxley’s attack on him at All Out. Moxley talked about how egos have gotten out of control and AEW is crawling with egos. Moxley then talked about Blackpool Combat Club’s mentor praising Danielson in the past and how Danielson was his favorite of the group. Moxley talked about their mentor’s words of “we are who we are.” Moxley stated that he is the king of these lands and diplomacy has failed. Moxley stated that today he chooses war.

In a follow-up segment, Moxley, Castagnoli, PAC, & Marina Shafir ran out from the crowd and attacked Private Party, Komander, and several jobbers in the ring. PAC grabbed a microphone and talked about AEW being broken and about what happened at All Out. PAC stated that he was someone who was lost but now he has a purpose. PAC then stated that diplomacy time is over and this company is now ours. PAC dropped the microphone and the group left the ring and made their way out through the crowd.

Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin for AEW World Title Shot Announced for Dynamite Grand Slam 2024

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the first of three new matches announced for the card of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024.

This new match announced was an AEW World Championship #1 Contender match of Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin.

This match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Allin, Moxley, and Marina Shafir. During the show, Allin came out to the ring and grabbed a microphone calling out Moxley stating that he was here and was waiting to know what Moxley wants to talk to him about.

This led to Moxley and Shafir coming out from the crowd and made their way to the ring. Moxley grabbed a microphone and stated that he is not sure what Darby has seen or heard but nothing has changed between them from their last encounter. Allin responded stating that he and Moxley don’t pretend to be superstars living in a fantasy world and they both came from nothing and will do whatever it takes to not go back. Allin then talked about his rough life growing up and how Moxley never changed himself for anybody and that is something he aspired to do. After some more words by Allin talking about the first time he met Moxley in the indies and how nervous he was about that moment, Allin stated that after what he did to Bryan Danielson, he no longer wanted to be like Moxley. Allin stated that he could never do that to someone he considers family. Allin then asked what Moxley wants.

This led to Moxley responding stating that he wants Allin to hand over his AEW World title shot to him. Moxley talked about how Darby still isn’t ready to be a World champion. Allin responded insulting Moxley stating that he sounds like everyone he claims to hate by acting self-entitled. Allin stated that if he wants the shot, he has to earn it.

Moxley responded back issuing a challenge for a match between the two with Allin’s title shot on the line at Grand Slam 2024 and promised to teach Allin a lesson the hard way. Allin responded back accepting and stated that if Moxley wants to burn AEW to the ground, he’d better not be surprised if Darby pulls him into the fire.

In a follow-up, it was announced that this match was made official for Dynamite Grand Slam 2024.

Nigel McGuinness vs. Bryan Danielson Announced for Dynamite Grand Slam 2024

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the second of three new matches announced for the card of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024.

This new match announced was a singles match of Nigel McGuinnes vs. Bryan Danielson.

This match was setup following a promo segment involving McGuinness. Earlier in the show, AEW Interim EVP Christopher Daniels was being interviews by Alex Marvez about Darby Allin and Jon Moxley’s match at Grand Slam before being interrupted by McGuinness. McGuinness told Daniels that he wants to talk to Tony Khan and for Daniels to trust him because what he has to say is something Khan will want to hear.

In a follow-up segment, McGuinness was seen in the ring and talked about with Darby Allin and Jon Moxley fighting at Grand Slam for who gets to face Danielson next for his title, that means there is no longer a AEW World title match for the show. McGuinness stated that Grand Slam deserves the champion to be on it and after some insults, he revealed that he got Tony Khan to agree to his request for a match between him and Danielson at Grand Slam.
