Britt Baker Return Announced for AEW Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show

Saturday’s AEW Collision show featured one new match announced for the card of AEW Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show, which takes place on October 2nd at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This new match announced was Britt Baker vs. mystery opponent.

This match was setup following a video announcement segment for Baker’s return to AEW.

In a follow-up segment, Serena Deeb was seen backstage and talked about Baker’s upcoming in-ring return at Dynamite’s 5 Year Anniversary Show. Deeb then issued a challenge to be Baker’s opponent on the show and stated that she is waiting for an answer.

This will be Baker’s first match and appearance in AEW since this past August’s AEW All In 2024 event.

  • AEW International Championship – Ricochet vs. Will Ospreay (c)

The Conglomeration vs. The Learning Tree Tornado Trios Match Announced for AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024

Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured the first of three new matches announced for the card of next week’ AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024 show, which takes place on September 25th at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new match announced was a Tornado Trios match of The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, & Orange Cassidy) vs. The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Big Bill, & Bryan Keith).

This match was initially setup over the past recent weeks over the bad blood issues between The Conglomeration and The Learning Tree revolving around Jericho’s issues over Cassidy owing him money for a destroyed shirt from four years ago. During tonight’s show, this match was made official following a match card graphic and announcement for next week’s Collision Grand Slam show.


Hangman Adam Page vs. Jeff Jarrett Lumberjack Strap Match Announced for AEW Grand Slam 2024

Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured one new match announced for the card of next week’ AEW Grand Slam 2024 show, which takes place on September 25th at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new match announced was a Lumberjack Strap match of Hangman Adam Page vs. Jeff Jarret.

This match was initially setup over the past recent weeks shows revolving around the bad blood issues Page and Jarrett. During tonight’s show, a video aired featuring Renee Paquette’s backstage interview with Jarrett and Karen Jarrett during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show. During his promo, an angry Jarrett challenged Page to a Lumberjack Strap match at next week’s Collision Grand Slam show and stated that the ringside would have eight guys, some being his friends and some being friends of Page but they will all hold straps to beat up which ever of them leaves the ring.

It was not specified if this match will be taking place on next week’s Dynamite or Collision Grand Slam show.


Saraya vs. Jamie Hayter in Sayara Rules Match Announced for AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024

Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured the second of three new matches announced for the card of next week’ AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024 show, which takes place on September 25th at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new match announced was a Saraya Rules match of Saraya vs. Jamie Hayter.

This match was intitally setup during Friday’s AEW Rampage show following Saraya challenging Hayter to a Saraya Rules match at Grand Slam 2024. At the time, it was not stated if this would be for next week’s Dynamite or Collision Grand Slam show. During tonight’s Collision show, it was confirmed that this match will be taking place on next week’s Collision Grand Slam show. In a backstage interview segment, Saraya and Harley Cameron revealed the official rules for this upcoming match which are heavy skewed in Saraya’s favor.


Sammy Guevara Challenges Kazuchika Okada to AEW Continental Title Eliminator Match at AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024

Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured the third of three new matches announced for the card of next week’ AEW Collision Grand Slam 2024 show, which takes place on September 25th at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new match announced was an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator match of Sammy Guevara vs. Kazuchika Okada.

This potential match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Guevara and Dustin Rhodes. After Rhodes thanked Guevara for being a great tag partner and Guevara responded back saying it was an honor to team with Dustin, Guevara stated that Rhodes was “Dustin Two Belts” and he wanted to do the same. Guevara then issued a challenge to Okada for an Elininator match for his AEW Continental title at next week’s Collision Grand Slam show. Guevara stated that if he wins, then he wants to challenge Okada for the title in two weeks at the Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show.
