Adam Cole Ankle Injury Status Update
As noted before, Adam Cole has been out of action for AEW since this past September due to an ankle injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Cole was in attendance backstage at this past Saturday’s All Out 2024 event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Cole was seen walking around fine backstage at the show.
Meltzer reported that a potential return date for Cole is still currently not known nor was one given during Cole’s backstage visit.
Powerhouse Hobbs Knee Injury Status Update
As noted before, Powerhouse Hobbs has been out of action for AEW since this past April due to a knee injury.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Hobbs was seen in attendance backstage at this past weekend’s AEW Collision and All Out 2024 shows in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. It was reported that Hobbs recently resumed road traveling with AEW for shows.
It was reported that no potential date for Hobbs’ in-ring return from injury is currently known.
Updated Estimates for AEW All In 2024 & All Out 2024 PPV Buys
As noted before, AEW’s All In 2024 event this past August at Wembley Stadium in London, England was estimated to have generated around 150,000 to 160,000 pay-per-view buys based on early numbers and estimates. AEW CEO Tony Khan stated during this past Saturday’s All Out 2024 post-show media scrum that the buys for this year’s All Out show was higher than last year’s event.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that All In 2024 is currently estimated to have generated around 158,000 PPV buys based on updated late buys purchases. Meltzer reported that All In’s late buys purchases have been at a lower level than other AEW PPV events of late. All In 2024’s cable television buys reportedly are currently up 22.2% compared to this past June’s Forbidden 2024 event based on the same number of days after the event.
In regards to All Out 2024’s buys, Meltzer reported that AEW’s event is currently estimated to have generated around 102,000 buys based on early numbers and data. Meltzer reported that All Out 2024’s cable television buys are currently down 38.7% and streaming buys are currently down 35% compared to this past June’s Forbidden Door 2024 event based on the same number of days after the event. In regards to last year’s event, Meltzer reported that this year’s All Out event is currently 2,000 buys higher than what last year’s event had generated for early numbers and estimates.
