Update on WWE’s Touring Plans for NXT on The CW
As noted before, WWE announced that the first two NXT shows on The CW will be held outside of their Performance Center with the October 1st debut show taking place in Chicago, Illinois and the October 8th show taking place in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dave Meltzer reported in a special preview edition of this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE’s recent announcement does not mean that WWE will be holding NXT shows in major arenas on a weekly basis.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials current plans are for NXT shows on The CW to still mainly take place at their Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. WWE officials reportedly felt that kicking off their NXT shows on The CW by running in major arenas made sense for their brand.
One person spoken to reportedly stated that WWE currently only has the first two weeks of shows to be held outside of Orlando. Meltzer reported that no decision has been made final yet regarding other shows taking place elsewhere and this would entirely be based on ticket demand and other factors.
