Corey Graves Replaces Pat McAfee for RAW Commentary Team

As noted before, this past Monday’s WWE RAW show was Pat McAfee’s final show for WWE for the rest of this year due to his commitments with ESPN’s College GameDay series for this season of college football.

At the start of tonight’s show, Michael Cole introduced Corey Graves who was seated next to him and announced that Graves will be filling in for McAfee on RAW commentary while McAfee is away.

Zelina Vega Makes Surprise “Injury” Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Zelina Vega making her surprise return from “injury.”

During the tag team match between Damage CTRL and Pure Fusion Collective, Vega made her surprise return after she ran out from the crowd and attacked Sonya Deville as payback for the “injury” she suffered last month at the hands of PFC. This led to Deville getting taken out to prevent her from interfering in the match again and Damage CTRL picking up the victory over PFC.

This was Vega’s first appearance in WWE since the July 22nd RAW show.

Jey Uso & Pete Dunne Advances in Intercontinental Title #1 Contender Tournament

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured two First Round matches for the #1 Contender’s tournament for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

The first tournament match was Jey Uso defeating Karrion Kross and Kofi Kingston.

The second tournament match was Pete Dunne defeating The Miz and Xavier Woods.

As a result of their victories, Uso and Dunne advances to the Fatal Four-way Finals of the Intercontinental title #1 Contender tournament, which takes place on the September 9th RAW show in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured three new matches announced for the card of next week’s RAW show on September 2nd in Denver, Colorado.

All of these matches were setup following storyline angles and match card graphics throughout the show.
