Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz Announced for NXT No Mercy 2024

Tuesday’s taped NXT show featured one new match announced for the card of NXT No Mercy 2024.

This new match was a singles match of Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz.

This new match was initially setup in recent weeks following the bad blood issues between Lee and Wentz after Lee’s betrayal and attack on The Rascalz.

During tonight’s show, Lee and Wentz were in the ring for a face-to-face promo segment. Wentz talked about how every team and family in pro wrestling breaks up but not the Rascalz or MSK. Wentz asked Lee why does he want to piss this away after nine years and does he think he is the bigger star? Lee responded stating that he is the bigger star and claimed Wentz only came back just from the rub. Lee stated that they are on different levels. After some more insults filled banter between the two, Lee stated that on Sunday he will show why he is a WWE Superstar and Wentz is just a TNA wrestler. Wentz responded back stating that this TNA wrestler will beat the ass of this WWE Superstar.

Joe Hendy Holds New Concert Mocking Ethan Page & Special Guest Ref Stip Announced for NXT Title Match at No Mercy 2024

Tuesday’s taped NXT show also featured Joe Hendry holding a new in-ring concert and one new stipulation announced for the NXT Championship match at NXT No Mercy 2024, which takes place on September 1st at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

This new stipulation was a Special Guest Referee for the NXT Championship match of Joe Hendry vs. Ethan Page (c).

During the show, Hendry came out to the ring and grabbed a guitar as he sat down. Hendry talked about his potential career changing match on Sunday against Ethan Page and stated that he had a new song to perform dedicated to Page. Hendry started to sing mocking Page’s past as Karate Man and his toy hunting and gym workout videos. Hendry then led a sing along with the crowd with the lyrics of “Ethan Sucks, Believe in Joe, Ethan Put Some Clothes On.”

This led to Page’s music interrupting and made his way to the ring. Page stated that they are done with sing along with Joe and those photos were out of context. After some more words by Page as the crowd continued to sing along mocking Page, NXT General Manager Ava came out and stated that Ethan should be flattered that Joe took time to write a special song about him. Ava then told Page of the things she had to finalize and due to his actions last week towards NXT officials, she stated that there will be a special guest referee for his match on Sunday. This led to Trick Williams coming out wearing a referee shirt revealing himself as the guest referee. This led to Page being distracted long enough for Hendry to hit a Standing Ovation to him as Williams entered the ring and made the three count. Williams then celebrated with Hendry and handed him the NXT title.

While Williams and Hendry were celebrating in the ring, Pete Dunne was shown on the stage and stated that he does not think Trick will make it to next Tuesday.
