Becky Lynch Comments on Her Current Break from Wrestling & Career Future

As noted before, Becky Lynch’s contract with WWE expired on June 1st and she is currently a free agent. Lynch is currently on a break from wrestling but is believed to be returning to WWE in the future. Lynch recently reflected about her time as “The Man” and her career in WWE leading to online speculation of Lynch was retiring from wrestling.

A recent episode of the Games With Names with Julian Edelman podcast featured Lynch as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Lynch’s thoughts about her current break from wrestling and the future of her wrestling career.

“Oh, it’s great. It’s great. Everything is great. I’ve got my wonderful little family. I have many options on the table. And I get to — for the first time in a long time — take a bit of a breath to appreciate everything. Because when you’re on the road 52 weeks a year, non-stop, going from town to town. And then in the last three years, I added to the chaos by having a daughter who I would bring everywhere with me. And then on top of that, I decided it would be good to write my biography. So it was really — for especially the last year [or] two years — pure chaos. Now I’m taking a little bit more time. I’m taking a breath. I’m getting to look around the world. Getting to look at what I created and evaluate everything. And it’s been wonderful.”

See things I never would have saw. meet people I never would have met, and just live a childhood dream, which so many people never get to do. How could I not be grateful for that? To continue that relationship, I’m so excited. To end my career, if you ask me, I have ten years left in me. I feel physically as good as I ever have. To be hitting a peak, I feel, of my career at this point is awesome. I’m excited for the future.

We both wanted it. I wanted to stay here, and I think, hopefully, they wanted me to stay here, too. We’ve been mutually beneficial for each other. I love everything the company does.”

In a recent interview with the Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez show, Big E gave his thoughts about what a meaty man is and what a meaty man match is like in wrestling. Big E stated “A meaty man to me is just a burly man, and honestly, sometimes, it’s really a state of mind too. It’s not just about your physical vessel, and of course, that is important. I’m looking for people with big chests put together. You could be brolic, you could be all muscle, you could have a little heft to you. You could have a little blubber to you, that’s cool too. But if you come with the mindset of a man who is hefty, a man who shall not be moved, but instead I’m gonna move you, a mover of other men, yeah. also, I think it can extend to women as well. But anyways, it’s just about that. It’s about being stout. You can be ground-based. You can be a bit of a high-flier, too. We got some big, meaty men who like to jump off ropes and jump off things as well. That’s fine. But it’s about a mind state of stoutness, like I’m gonna get in the gym, Imma put on some weight, and Imma make sure that the earth, when I move, the earth feels me, that gravity knows who I am, gravity knows your name. That’s a meaty man. A meaty man match is just at least two of those people colliding, [claps his hands]. That’s what I want to hear. That’s the collision, when they slap, [claps again], that’s the meat slapping. That’s what it sounds like.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
