Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – Dr. Carlon Colker Files Petition Denying Any Wrongdoing in Treatment of Janel Grant

As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against former TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Grant’s lawsuit was put on hold this past April over a request from the U.S. Department of Justice, who launched a criminal investigation into McMahon and joined the lawsuit as an “interested party.” Grant’s lawyers recently filed a petition against a WWE Wellness doctor and his clinic for medical records related to her lawsuit.

Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston and Post Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that Dr. Carlon Colker recently filed a petition against Grant in a Connecticut court. In his filing, Colker denied that any improper treatment was administered to Grant at his Peak Wellness Cliic.

Colker’s attorneys reportedly filed a bill of discovery complaint seeking documentation from Grant and claimed numerous damages to his name and reputation from the accusations made by Grant against him.

In the filing, Colker is compelling Grant to “provide information concerning her activities in intentionally fostering patent lies and material misstatements concerning her interactions with and treatment by Plaintiffs.”

In an official statement to Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics, Grant’s attorney Ann Callis stated:

“The court sided with Janel and against McMahon in confirming she was within her right to seek her own medical records and data from Dr. Carlon Colker of Peak Wellness.  It is perplexing, but on brand to file an attack against a woman formerly in his care.”

Colker’s filing claimed that Grant’s actions are a “smear campaign” designed to “bolster her well-publicized allegations concerning alleged sex trafficking and sexual assault by World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis.” The filing also brought up that neither Colker nor Peak Wellness are named as defendants in Grant’s lawsuit and noted that there is is a “Celebrity Doctor” and “Alternative Clinic” cited anonymously in the suit.

Pollock reported that attempts by him and Thurston to confirm that Colker and Peak Wellness were the anonymous “Celebrity Doctor” and “Alternative Clinic” were made but they were unable to receive confirmation of the links.

In regards to his medical treatment of Grant, Colker is claiming that “always advised and consulted in advance with Grant concerning any specific medications she was prescribed. Grant baselessly accuses Plaintiffs of failing to provide her with a Private Policy and itemization of any bills, despite the undisputable documented evidence to the contrary, including that Grant expressly signed and acknowledged receipt of Plaintiffs’ privacy policy, which are in Grant’s possession along with the entirety of her electronic medical record and metadata.”

Colker is also denying that they withheld any information regarding Grant’s care and never refused or avoided explaining any of the treatments Grant received nor gave Grant any “pushback” when Grant inquired as to the specifics of what vitamins she was provided. Colker is also denying that the claims of him ever “berated” Grant is “recklessly and harmfully false.”

Colker’s filing also stated that the “flagrant and uncontrolled dissemination of these lies by Grant has caused and will continue to cause Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness irreparable harm and perhaps incalculable damages, but well over tens of millions of dollars.”

Colker and Peak Wellness Clinic reportedly are seeking the documents necessary from Grant to prove that her claims are libelous and that the plaintiffs have “no other adequate remedy at law to obtain the materials and information requested.” The documents being requested from Grant reportedly includes phone records, social media sites she has engaged with, and all emails with information regarding Grant sharing information about her treatment at the clinic.

Colker and Peak Wellness Clinic reportedly are also seeking to depose Grant with additional relief in law or equity that the court finds justified in their favor.
