Orange Cassidy Announced for CMLL 91st Anniversary Show

Wednesday’s CMLL Informa show featured Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre announcing two new matches for the card of their 91st Anniversary Show, which takes place on September 13th at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

Besides the new matches, it was also announced that Orange Cassidy will be making his debut appearance for the company at this upcoming event. Cassidy will be teaming with Satoshi Kojima & Rocky Romero in a Trios match against Volador Jr., Atlantis Jr., & Último Guerrero.

The other new match announced was a Trios match of Los Viajeros del Espacio (Futuro, Max Star, & Hombre Bala Jr.) vs. Los Depredadores (Magnus, Rugido & Magia Blanca).

Maria Kanellis’ Health Status & Adrenal Gland Mass Surgery Update

As noted before, Maria Kanellis announced this past July that a mass was recently discovered on her adrenal gland and she is currently scheduled to undergo surgery this September for retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy.

Kanellis provided an update on Twitter on Wednesday stating that she has started to get some answers regarding her current health situation following the results of some of her medical tests.

“Just got some test results back… from what I can tell my adrenal mass is hormone producing. I’ll get a more clear picture on September 3rd. But, one of the symptoms of the over production of a particular hormone was hands and feet tingling which has been something I have been trying to figure out for months!!! I’m hopeful that this surgery will take care of some or all of my symptoms. Anyways I’m having this drink because Mike is back and I’m starting to get some answers.”

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

TNA Wrestling announced that tickets for this Friday’s Emergence 2024 event at the Old Forester’s Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky recently reached sold out status.

As noted before, former WWE talent Gable Steveson was cut this past Tuesday from the Buffalo Bills final 53-man roster for their upcoming football season. The Buffalo Bills recently released their official practice squad roster for this season revealing that Steveson was not signed to their practice squad after he was cut.

AIW Wrestling announced on Twitter that they have recently terminated their streaming contract with TrillerTV. AIW Wrestling owner John Thorne stated “As of Friday August 23rd I have terminated AIW’s contract with Triller and it appears all of our content has been removed as of this morning. I will keep everyone updated as we explore options for a new home for our video library and live streaming content in the coming weeks.” The reason for the terminated contract was due to issues involving TrillerTV owing money to several indie promotions over them failing to pay those promotions in full for their events airing on the service.

CMLL announced that Unagi Sayaka will be making an appearance for the company at their Women’s International Grand Prix 2024 event on October 25th at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico. It was also announced that Sayaka will be competing for Team World at the event.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced that Athena will be making an appearance for the company at their Forged In Excellence events on October 19-20 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Paul London recently was hired as a backstage producer for Major League Wrestling. Johnson reported that London will work as both an in-ring talent and backstage producer for MLW starting at this Friday’s Summer of the Beasts event in New York City, New York.

The National Wrestling Alliance announced that they have recently signed Mims to an exclusive contract with the company.

The NWA also recently announced that Santana Garnett is the next official competitor for this year’s Burke Invitational Gauntlet match at their NWA 76 event on August 31st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
