TNA Emergence 2024 Notes: Zachary Wentz Wins TNA X-Division Title, Alisha Edwards Suffered Head Injury, JBL Makes Surprise Appearance

Zachary Wentz Wins TNA X-Division Title at TNA Emergence 2024

Friday’s Emergence 2024 event for TNA Wrestling at the Old Forester’s Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky featured Zachary Wentz winning the TNA X-Division Championship.

Wentz defeated Riley Osborne, Jason Hotch, Hammerstone, Laredo Kid, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey in an Ultimate X match to become the new champion.

This was Wentz’s first ever X-Division Championship victory in his TNA career.

Alisha Edwards Suffered Head Injury at TNA Emergence 2024

Friday’s TNA Emergence 2024 event in Louisville also featured Alisha Edwards suffering a head-related injury.

During the Knockouts Six-Women Tag Team match between Jordynne Grace & Spitfire and Ash By Elegance & The Malisha, Edwards suffered a head injury in the opening minutes of the match following a spot involving Ash & The Malisha being on the outside and Grace tossing Jody Threat and then Dani Luna out of the ring onto them leading to Edwards getting knocked out in the process. Grace then attempted to do a dive to Edwards only to stop her run after noticing that no one was there to catch her and Edwards was still down. The other women in the match tried to help Edwards up to her feet at first without knowing that she was legitimately knocked out. This led to medical personnel coming out to attend to Edwards and Tommy Dreamer carrying her to the backstage for more treatment.

Fightful’s Seam Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Edwards seemed to be handling things okay backstage after getting some medical treatment.

JBL Makes Surprise Appearance at TNA Emergence 2024

Friday’s TNA Emergence 2024 event in Louisville also featured WWE Hall of Famer JBL making a surprise appearance.

Following Nic Nemeth’s victory over Josh Alexander in an One-Hour Iron Man match to retain his TNA World Championship, JBL made a surprise appearance and came out to the ring making a surprise appearance. JBL walked up to Nemeth and whispered something in his ear and smiled before walking out of the ring. Nemeth responded back nodding his head and continued on with his victory celebration in the ring.

This was the second time that JBL was with Nemeth together in a wrestling ring, following Lucha Libra AAA’s Triplemania XXXII: Mexico City event earlier this month in Mexico.
