In Memory of My Father, Sid Eudy

Dear friends and family,

I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon.Thank you for your support.

Sincerely, Gunnar Eudy

Eudy’s wrestling career spanned from 1987 to 2017 and was most known for his stints in WWE and WCW under the ring names of Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid.

During his time with NWA WCW, Eudy was most known for being a member of the Four Horsemen alongside Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, and Barry Windham from 1990 to 1991.

Following his departure from WCW in May of 1991, Eudy joined WWE and worked under the ring name of Sid Justice. Eudy’s first stint with WWE was most known for him being one of the final two competitors in the 1992 Royal Rumble match for the vacant WWF Championship. Eudy’s elimination at the hands of Hulk Hogan would set the stage for their feud that culminated at WrestleMania VIII.

Following his departure from WWF in 1992 over him quitting the company over a failed drug test, Eudy made a brief return to WCW before leaving again and joined United States Wrestling Association.

Eudy would make his return to WWE for a second stint that lasted from 1995 to 1997 and was most known for his time as the bodyguard of WWE Champion “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels and his eventual turn on Michaels at the WWF In Your House 1995 event. This second stint in WWE was also known for Eudy debuting his “Sycho Sid” character and winning the WWF Championship at Survivor Series 1996.

Following his second departure from WWE, Eudy briefly worked in Mexico and ECW before returning to WCW for the third and final time of his career. This final run in WCW from 1999 until January of 2001 was most known for Eudy winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 2000 and his horrific knee injury in January of 2001 that was caused by him leaping off the top rope and snapping his ankle when he landed on the mat. This injury lead to Eudy’s first retirement from wrestling that lasted until 2004.

Eudy’s wrestling career notable achievements and accolades included being a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WWF Champion, two-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, and one-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion.
