More on Swerve Strickland Signing New AEW Contract

As noted before, this past Sunday’s AEW All In Zero Hour pre-show at Wembley Stadium in London, England featured Swerve Strickland signing a new contract with AEW to remain in the company for the foreseeable future.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Strickland’s new contract is for multiple years in length and is “considered one of the biggest deals in the company’s history.”

Sapp reported that Strickland’s original contract had been set to expire in March of 2025 and the reason why a new deal was put together this early was due to AEW officials feeling that Strickland had out performed his contract by the time his AEW World Championship reign came along. This reportedly led to negotiations between the two sides for a new deal.

AEW CEO Tony Khan reportedly made it a priority to lock in a new multi-year deal for Strickland before March 2025. This new deal reportedly will keep Strickland in AEW until at least 2028 but the exact length of his new deal is currently not known.

AEW officials reportedly have been more than pleased with Strickland’s recent performances. Strickland reportedly is expected to continue to be booked as a top star in AEW going forward.
