Legendary wrestler and former AEW talent Sting retired from wrestling at AEW’s Revolution 2024 event this past March.
WFAA held a recent interview with Darby Allin. One of the topics discussed included Allin’s thoughts about if he has seen Sting since his retirement match and revealed that Sting has been in attendance backstage at recent AEW Collision shows.
“Yeah. He’s been backstage at some of the Collisions. I keep telling him, you’ve got to come out and we’ve got to go mini-golf battle. You know, like his son, I’m helping train his son right now in wrestling, and I took the son mini-golfing, and I whooped his butt, and then I just asked Sting, does it run in the family to lose to Darby Allen in mini-golf? We’ll find out. He claims that he’s a mini-golf master, but he hasn’t pulled up to the course yet.”
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed Sting has been in attendance backstage at some of AEW’s recent Collision and ROH TV tapings in Arlington, Texas due to he lives in the area. It was reported that the reason for Sting’s backstage appearances was to visit friends. It was reported that Sting had surprised Allin by visiting one of the Collision shows that Allin was wrestling.
It was reported that while Sting retired from wrestling after AEW’s Revolution 2024 event, the company reportedly still has him listed as part of their internal roster list.
