Will Ospreay on Bryan Danielson has Earned Being Called “The Best In The World”

Will Ospreay recently reflected on Twitter about his belief that Bryan Danielson has earned the mark of being “the best in the world” everywhere he has gone in his career.

“When I was a kid this man would walk down the ramp towards rings with Europes “final countdown” banging out & with one finger in the air to signal the worlds number 1 is about to compete.

Everywhere he has gone and truly mean EVERYWHERE. He has earned the mark “The Best In The World”

August 25th. Danielson is doing it all again. In the main event of the iconic Wembley Stadium!!

To be on the same card is awesome but as a massive fan, to me this is legendary!!

Tony Khan Comments on AEW Still Having “Big Plans” for England in 2025

As noted before, AEW announced earlier this week that next year’s All In event will be taking place on July 12, 2025 at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

A recent episode of The Dan LeBatard Show featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about AEW still having big plans for and AEW show in England for next year.

“We will be back in England in 2026. You can bet you’ll see us there in 2025 as well. It won’t be AEW All In, it’ll be something different, but we have some big plans coming up next year as well.”

Khan also gave his thoughts on his belief of who might have been the person who leaked the photo of his private meeting with Shane McMahon.

“I think somebody who works at the airport. We were just talking in the airport lounge, having a real nice chat as the photo evidenced, and somebody just walked in like they were on their phone, ‘Oops, sorry,’ and then walked away. I think that’s probably what it was. It wasn’t that slick. Also, it’s not a top secret thing. I wanted to have a nice conversation with him. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about him. We have a bunch of mutual friends. We were both in Dallas, they said, ‘You guys should meet up,’ so we met up at the airport and it was a nice talk. I thought he’s a very respectful and respectable person, and somebody I really enjoyed talking to.”

It was reported that WBD announced that Television Group Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey will be replacing Finch. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Finch was a big supporter of AEW during her time in WBD. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Finch’s departure is not expected to affect the contract negotiations for a new deal media rights deal or AEW’s day-to-day business in general.

AEW’s Forbidden Door 2024 event this past June reportedly is estimated to have generated around 120,000 pay-per-view buys based on updated late buys purchases numbers, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that Forbidden Door 2024’s PPV buys are currently down 15.2% compared to this past May’s Double or Nothing 2024 event based on the same number of days after the event.

As noted before, AEW announced earlier this week that next year’s All In event will be taking place on July 12, 2025 at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Wrestling legend and former AEW wrestler Sting recently reflected on Twitter about AEW holding an All In stadium event next year in Texas. Sting statedHmmm… just down the road. I’ll be watching from ‘somewhere.’

In a recent interview with the AEW Unrestricted podcast featured AEW VP of Content Development Jennifer Pepperman as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Pepperman’s thoughts about the amount of storytelling that AEW puts into their matches. Pepperman stated “The structure of the show is very different from how we would structure a show at WWE and I’ve been fascinated by that. The amount of storytelling in a match and the amount of pay-per-view matches that we have on AEW continues to amaze me. I’m also struck by [the fact] that there’s a freeness that really sparks creativity here. I think that’s been a really cool thing. Also, I feel like in AEW, everyone really gets to feel heard creatively and that’s really important.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

As noted before, Jim Ross underwent wrist surgery this past July. In a recent virtual fan signing event for Highspots, Ross revealed the cause of his wrist injury. Ross stated “Did I tell you I had a broken wrist? I tripped over my charger cord in my condo. I was naked and barefooted so, I didn’t have much defense.” Ross also gave hos thoughts about his health has been pretty good of late but traveling is still an issue for him. Ross stated “Pretty good (health-wise). This year, I’ve had my right hip replaced. I’ve been having trouble with my radiation burn, where they worked on my cancer. 22 radiation treatments and it left a horrible scar and so that’s still healing after a year. I had the hip replacement, I fell in my living room and broke my wrist. What else has happened to me? And then I had some weird respiratory issues. But I’m feeling great. So, I lost probably 40 pounds. (It is tough to lose weight), especially when you’re an old guy. So, I’ve had an interesting year health-wise, and (inaudible), my health has always been immaculate so, I’m really not gonna b*tch and moan and cry about it, because I know there are people out there that have it worse than me. I get that and I feel for them as well. But I’m feeling better without question. It’s just travel is the enemy. I got one hand to deal with. I need to hire me an assistant, and I’ll be glad when this (wrist cast) comes off. Look, I’m blessed, I got a great life. I got great fans, I got friends like you (Michael Bochicchio) that I appreciate and like being around. So, I really don’t have anything major to b*tch about… But things are good, you know?” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
