AEW: Penta El Zero Miedo AEW Contract Update, Current Plans for Tay Melo’s AEW Return, New Match & Two New Segments Set for 8/14 Dynamite Show

Lucha Bros AEW Contracts Status Update – Penta El Zero Miedo Comments on His Present Being with AEW

As noted before, The Lucha Brothers’ Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire between this August and September while Rey Fenix’s contract is currently set to expire this September. The Lucha Bros are currently expected to be joining WWE once their AEW contracts expire.

Penta provided an update earlier today on Twitter stating that his present is with AEW.

“No more gossip! my present is aew!”


Current Plans for Tay Melo’s AEW Return from Maternity Leave

As noted before, Tay Melo has been out of action for AEW since March of 2023 due to maternity leave reasons over the birth of her first child. Melo’s husband Sammy Guevara recently revealed that they have been training for an in-ring return, which Guevara did for Ring of Honor this past July.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that there was talk backstage at this past Saturday’s AEW Collision about Melo could be making her return to AEW very soon.

Johnson reported that some within AEW currently believe that Melo will be present for this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Norfolk, Virginia.


One New Match and Two New Segments Announced for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced one new match and two new segments for the card of this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show on August 14th at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a Casino Gauntlet #1 Spot Three-way match of Kyle O’Reilly vs. Orange Cassidy vs. Roderick Strong.

In regards to the new segments, the first new segment announced was a promo segment featuring HOOK.

The second new segment announced was a video package segment featuring Bryan Danielson.

  • AEW World Tag Team Championship match – The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) vs. The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) (c)
