MJF & Will Ospreay’s Face-to-Face War of the Words Promo Battle on Wednesday’s Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s taped AEW Dynamite show also featured MJF and Will Ospreay having a face-to-face heated promo battle.

During the show, Ospreay came out to the ring and grabbed a microphone followed by MJF coming out afterwards to the ring. MJF taunted the crowd and stated for them to be quiet before we can get things started in this face-to-face. This led to Ospreay responding getting the crowd to pop loudly after mentioning the name of the town. Ospreay then told the crowd to give MJF a warm welcome, which ended up being them loudly booing MJF.

After some words by Ospreay to the crowd, Ospreay stated that Sunday is all about cleaning up the mess that MJF made and they should call him Barry Scott after Sunday because BANG and the dirt is gone. MJF responded running down Ospreay and the crowd. MJF stated that the top brass in AEW and Warner Bros Discovery begged him to come back before he was fully healed to clean up Ospreay’s mess. Before MJF could continue, Ospreay interrupted and talked about MJF’s rise to the top of the company. Ospreay stated that those watching on the outside were laughing at what was on display. Ospreay stated that MJF talks about being begged to come to show up at work while Tony Khan came to him despite having “3000 people and their nans” signed to please put on a good wrestling match because Tony couldn’t rely on their World Champion to do it. After some words by Ospreay about “restoring the feeling” and him being the “feeling”, MJF responded mocking Ospreay stating that he does not care about catering to these people. MJF stated that he only cares about doing what Americans do best and that is win. MJF stated that he believed Tony when he said the company was safe in Ospreay’s hands but asked “who is Will Ospreay?”

This led to the crowd chanting Ospreay’s name and MJF responding stating that everyone knows who he is … “the best wrestler on God’s green earth.” MJF then asked Ospreay who told him he was the best in the world and proceeded to mock the fans for knowing nothing about pro wrestling and stated that is true because they like Will’s matches. After some more words by MJF boasting about being the longest ever AEW World Champion, MJF stated that the fans can “feel all they want” because he is the facts and facts don’t care about feelings.

Ospreay responded back stating facts can be rewritten but what can’t be rewritten is how people feel. Ospreay talked about how he can go all around the world and ask who the best wrestler in the world is and they will all tell him its Will Ospreay. Ospreay then talked about MJF letting people down and those who loved him turned their backs on him. MJF responded angrily yelling that these people loved him until Ospreay showed up and ruined everything.

MJF started talking about Ospreay’s wife and child and after a series of insults over how he paid a visit to Ospreay’s wife and mocking Ospreay’s child, MJF stated that the next kid she has won’t be Ospreay’s. This led to an enraged Ospreay asking Tony Schiavone how much is the fine if he breaks the no contact clause for their face-to-face segment. Schiavone responded stating it was 100,000 British pounds and stated it was around $127,000 for conversion. Ospreay responded stating that it will be worth it and charged at MJF resulting in a brawl breaking out. This led to security rushing out to break up the brawl only for MJF to charge at Ospreay and laid him out with a punch using his Dynamite Diamond ring. MJF then attacked the security and continued his attack on Ospreay busting him open. MJF then attempted to hit a Tiger Driver 91 to Ospreay only for security to rush back into the ring and pulled MJF away. This led to AEW Interim EVP checking on Ospreay as MJF left and stated he is “the facts” before heading to the back.

Bryan Danielson & Swerve Strickland’s “Final Showdown” War of the Words on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s taped AEW Dynamite show also featured the “Final Showdown” between Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland ahead of their AEW World title match at All In 2024.

During the show, Nigel McGuinness welcomed everyone and gave some glowing praise of Strickland before introducing him out. Strickland and Prince Nana made their way out to the ring and McGuinness started to introduce Danielson before stopping and gave more praise of Strickland and proceeded to insult Danielson including calling him a “Neck Break Kid.” McGuinness asked Strickland how it feels to go into this match as the overwhelming favorite. Strickland responded talking about being the most dangerous man in AEW and proceeded to list all the people he has defeated to get where he is as AEW World Champion. Strickland stated that he promises to dissect Danielson in that ring and doing it so purposely, menacingly, and scientifically. McGuinness responded stating that is one man who hasn’t joined that list only for Strickland to quickly interrupt and stated that he was not done. After some more words, Strickland stated that he can’t help but feel offended about Bryan’s remarks of being ready for retirement and stated that Danielson is not going to take that moment from him. Strickland stated that he is going to make sure Bryan is not capable of getting back in the ring after All In.

After some more words, Strickland stated that maybe Danielson gets that itch again down the line and goes to some indie wrestling show in the state of Washington. McGuinness attempted to leave only to be told by Strickland to stay where he is. Strickland continued where he left off stating that he will be there behind the curtain to beat Danielson down. Strickland proceeded to talk about doing the same if Danielson goes to Arena Mexico. Strickland stated that maybe Bryan will have a chat with his family about having the itch to wrestle again and guess where Swerve will be?

This led to Danielson’s music playing and him rushing out to the ring and laying out Strickland with a Busaiku Knee resulting in McGuinness and Prince Nana scrambling out of the ring. Danielson grabbed a microphone and stated that maybe a lot of people are confused as he does not come out here 20 minuted every week to talk and talk and talk about himself. Danielson stated that he knows who he is and this is the truth, Strickland and Danielson knows it, he is the “Best F***ing Wrestler in the World” and has been for the last 20 years. Danielson stated that Strickland can say he is going to cripple him in front of his daughter at All In but at Wembley Stadium, the fans who have paid to see him the last 25 years and in front of his family, Strickland will have to do more than cripple him, he will have to “damn near kill him” and he will leave his soul in the ring. Danielson stated that there has been a lot of talking and fighting but there is only one question left, can The American F***ing Dragon bear Swerve Strickland for the World title? This led to the crowd responding roaring in “Yes” chants and AEW commentary stating that The Dragon has awoken and is ready for All In.
