Quick Match Results

  1. AEW American Championship Eliminator match – MJF defeated Kyle Fletcher via Sheer Drop Brainbuster (pinfall)
    • At the start of the show, Don Callis was seated at the announcer’s table for guest commentary for the match. During the match, Will Ospreay was seen watching on a television in a backstage viewing room.
    • Near the end of the match, Callis left the commentary area and went onto the apron and tossed a screwdriver for Fletcher to use. Callis then distracted the referee to let Fletcher using the weapon only for Fletcher to hesitate and tossed the screwdriver away. This led to MJF hitting a low blow kick to Fletcher while the referee was not looking and followed it with a sheer drop brainbuster for the pinfall victory.
    • Following the match, Ospreay busted his way through a backstage door that had been blocked by a production case. In the ring, MJF laid out the referee with his belt and attacked Fletcher with his Dynamite Diamond ring bloodying him. MJF then setup Fletcher for a Tiger Driver 91 only for Ospreay to run out and chased MJF out of the ring. Ospreay then checked on Fletcher and held up his head calling out for the medic as Callis got into the ring as well to check on Fletcher. As Fletcher was being checked on by a doctor, Ospreay looked at his blood stained shirt and Callis asked Ospreay where he was.
  2. “The Glamour” Mariah May defeated Viva Van via Storm Zero (pinfall)
    • Following the match, May was handed a wrapped up gift which was revealed to be a giant portrait of “Timeless” Toni Storm caressing May with some giant text on the back. May flipped over the portrait revealing it the words of “Die Mariah Die” leading to a disgusted reaction by May. When May turned around, Storm was seen in the ring and chucked a shoe at her. Storm and May started to brawl that was broken up by AEW officials and security before Storm was able to strike May with the heel of her shoe. As Storm and May were being held back, Storm grabbed the portrait and held up the back of it saying “Die Mariah Die.”
  3. Katsuyori Shibata defeated “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith via Cross Armbreaker (submission)
    • Prior to the start of the match, The Learning Tree’s Chris Jericho & Big Bill came out to the announcer’s table for the match while Taz was kicked out due to Jericho not wanting to sit next to him.
    • Near the end of the match, Shibata locked in the Iron Claw to Keith’s head and followed it with a cross armbreaker for the tap out victory.
    • Following the match, Jericho & Big Bill ran out to the ring and attacked Shibata leading to HOOK making his surprise return and attacked The Learning Tree clearing them out of the ring.
  4. Orange Cassidy & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated RUSH, The Beast Mortos, & Roderick Strong via Shatter Machine (pinfall)
    • This match was originally set to feature The Conglomeration’s Kyle O’Reilly & Mark Briscoe teaming up with Cassidy but Renee Paquette revealed in a backstage interview with Cassidy that neither were able to make it to the show due to travel-related issues.
    • The Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven & Mike Bennett were seated at ringside for the match and interfered at one point while the referee was not looking before heading back to their seats.
    • Harwood pinned RUSH after Cassidy hit the Orange Punch to RUSH that was followed by FTR hitting the Shatter Machine for the victory.
    • Following the match, The Acclaimed’s music played and came out but before Max Caster could say anything, Harwood interrupted him and stated that it looks like the mic guys don’t want him to talk. Harwood stated that he appreciates what The Acclaimed have done for AEW and after some fumbling of his words, he admitted he is not good with promos and asked the security to let them through. This led to a brawl breaking out between FTR and The Acclaimed that was quickly broken up by security.
  5. 2-on-1 Handicap match – “The Brickhouse” Kamille defeated Jazmyne Hao & Clara Carter via Sit-out Dominator (pinfall)
    • Mercedes Mone came out with Kamille to be in her corner for the match.
    • Kamille pinned both Hao & Carter after hitting a spinning Torture Rack Bomb to Hao and a Sit-out Dominator to Carter.
    • Following the match, Mone got into the ring and introduced Kamille to everyone and proceeded to insult Baker for not being here tonight because she was still suspended by the EVPs. This led to Tony Schiavone interrupting Mone and stated that Interim EVP Christopher Daniels had informed him that by orders of Tony Khan, Baker’s suspension has been lifted and she is here tonight via satellite. Baker showed up on the big screen and called out Mone. After some words insulting Mone, Baker stated that she will be the first person in AEW to defeat Mone and she has seven days to figure out how to get her hands on Mone and she can trust her since she is a doctor, D.M.D.
  6. Anything Goes match – Bryan Danielson defeated Jeff Jarrett via Busaiku Knee (pinfall)
    • WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat came out to the announcer’s table as the special guest for the match.
    • Near the end of the match, Danielson grabbed a chair that Jarrett had placed in teh corner earlier and hit a Busaiku Knee with the chair to Jarrett for the pinfall victory.
    • Following the match, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, & Karen Jarrett came out to console Jarrett while Wheeler Yuta came out to check on Danielson. Steamboat got into the ring and raised Danielson and Jarrett’s arms up and Danielson and Jarrett gave a hug to each other in respect of their hard fought match. Strickland’s music played interrupting the post-match festivities and came out with Prince Nana. Strickland talked about there being three TBS legends out here and him being the new one. Strickland proceeded to talk about their upcoming match at All In and promised to take his legacy. Strickland then talked about if Danielson got a warm up match, then he wants one as well and called out Yuta for a match next week and Danielson can have a front row seat for it.

HOOK Makes Surprise Return at Wednesday’s Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show featured HOOK making his surprise return.

Following Katsuyori Shibata’s victory over Brian Keith, The Learning Tree’s Chris Jericho & Big Bill ran out and attacked Shibata. This led to HOOK’s music playing interrupting and him making his surprise return running out to save Shibata and cleared the ring of The Learning Tree.

This was HOOK’s first appearance in AEW since this past July’s Beach Break 2024 show due to him suffering a storyline fireball attack injury at the hands of Jericho and The Learning Tree.


Swerve Strickland Responds to His Upcoming AEW World Title Match Against Danielson

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Swerve Strickland responding to his upcoming match against Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship at this month’s AEW All In 2024 event.

During the show, a pre-taped backstage sitdown interview was aired featuring Jim Ross and Strickland. Ross talked about him being excited about what he is going to see at All In and is worried that the fans don’t realize what they might miss if they don’t see the main event. Strickland responded talking about his match at last year’s event with wrestling legends and how he is the main event for this year’s event. Strickland stated that his prior actions was his way to knock on the door and make some noise until someone finally let him in. Strickland then stated that he knows what Danielson is fighting for leading to Ross responding how this could be it for Danielson’s ring career win, lose, or draw. Strickland responded back stating that if the AEW World title was not enough for Danielson, it is also about the legacy and if he were in the same situation, would anyone give a dam about him. Strickland stated that he controls the narrative and that is what worries people in AEW. Strickland stated that does he care about Danuelson being a parent or a father and answered his own question stating “no.” Strickland then asked Ross why he thinks this will be his toughest test. Strickland asked what happens when Danielson’s body gives out and won’t hold up? Strickland then stated that not only will he beat Danielson, he will beat Danielson and Danielson’s legacy will belong to him.


Two New Matches Announced for AEW All In 2024

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured two new matches announced for the card of AEW All In, which takes place on August 25th at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

The first new match announced was a Winner Gets Future Shot at AEW World Championship, Casino Gauntlet match.

The second new match announced was an AEW World Trios Championship match of winner of House of Black (Buddy Matthews, Brody King, & Malakai Black)/Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn)) vs. The Patriarchy (Nick Wayne, Killswitch, & Christian Cage) (c).

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one new match announced for the card of this Saturday’s AEW Collision show at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas and one new match and segment announced for the card of next week’s Dynamite show on August 14th at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

In regards to this Saturday’s AEW Collision show, the new match announced was an AEW World Trios Championship #1 Contender match of House of Black (Buddy Matthews, Brody King, & Malakai Black) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn)). It was also announced that this match will also be featuring Christian Cage as the special guest referee.

In regards to next week’s AEW Dynamite show, the new segment announced was a face-to-face segment featuring Kazuchika Okada and Claudio Castagnoli.

The new match announced was a singles match of Swerve Strickland vs. Wheeler Yuta.
