AEW Dynamite & Collision Taping Spoilers for 8/21 Dynamite & 8/24 Collision Shows

AEW held a new set of AEW Dynamite and Collision tapings today at the Utilita Arena Cardiff in Cardiff, Wales.

These tapings were for tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite and for the August 24th episode of Collision.

Full results from AEW Dynamite and Collision tapings on August 21st:

AEW Dynamite:

  • Dark match – Michael Oku defeated Serpentico
  • Chris Jericho defeated “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington. Prior to the start of the match, Jericho gave a promo badmouthing Billington stating that he does not have the right to use the “Dynamite Kid” name. During the match, Jericho grabbed a microphone and responded to the “Please retire” chants by crowd stating that the fans only wanted him to retire so he could help the Cardiff City Football Club. Following the match, HOOK came out to confront Jericho only to get attacked from behind by Big Bill.
  • TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker came out to the ring for their match contract signing. Tony Schiavone hosted the segment and stated both Baker and Mone had agreed to no physicality during the signing. Mone stated that Baker is the past and she is the future. Baker responded stating when she thinks of the past, she thinks of All In last year when Mone hobbled into the stadium to watch her wrestle. Near the end of the segment, Baker stated that she would agree to the rules and not hit Mone but that didn’t apply to Kamille. This led to a brawl breaking out and Mone and Kamille bailing out of the ring as Baker held up the TBS title belt.
  • AEW Women’s World Championship – “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Saraya. Following the match, Mariah May ran out and attacked Storm with a shoe.
  • Hangman Adam Page was interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette. During his promo, Page revealed that he will be one of the competitors in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In 2024. Evil Uno showed up and revealed that he is also competing in the match. Page responded to the news by attacking Uno.
  • Will Ospreay and MJF came out to the ring for their face-to-face segment. This ended with a brawl breaking out and AEW officials and security rushing out to separate the two. Ospreay ended up getting busted up during the brawl and was checked on by Christopher Daniels.
  • AEW Continental Championship – Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kazuchika Okada (c) went to a time-limit draw
  • Darby Allin & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson). Following the match, The Acclaimed came out and had a staredown with FTR.
  • Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland came out to the ring for their “Final Showdown” that was moderated by Nigel McGuinness. At the end of the segment, Strickland gave a promo mentioning Danielson’s family resulting in Danielson responding attacking Strickland and a brawl breaking out. This brawl ended with Danielson laying out Strickland and gave a promo to the crowd asking them if he can beat Swerve on Sunday. This led to the crowd roaring in “Yes!” chants.

AEW Collision:

  • The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, & Kyle O’Reilly) defeated The Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett & Matt Taven)
  • Willow Nightingale defeated Harley Cameron
  • Katsuyori Shibata defeated Jay Lethal
  • Kris Statlander & Stokely Hathaway defeated Lykos II & Nina Samuels. Statlander did most of the work for her team and slammed Hathaway onto Lykos for the pinfall victory.
  • Hook defeated Big Bill
  • Jeff Jarrett defeated Ariya Daivari
  • AEW World Trios Championship London Ladders Wild Card Qualifying match – PAC & Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) defeated Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) & Lio Rush. Following the match, House of Black, The Patriarchy, and Bang Bang Gang ran out and engaged in a mass brawl to close out the show.
