Buddy Matthews Makes Surprise Return at Saturday’s AEW Collision Show

Saturday’s taped AEW Collision show featured Buddy Matthews making his surprise return to AEW.

At the start of the show, The Patriarchy came out and made their way to the ring. Christian Cage talked about their recent AEW Trios Championship victory and handed one of his Trios titles to Wayne in praise of him being a prodigy and youngest ever to win gold in AEW. Cage then went up to Killswitch and offered him some praise but refused to hand him the other Trios title due to he did not give birth to a prodigy and was less deserving of holding it. Cage then handed the other Trios title to Mother Wayne. This led to Killswitch being upset and grabbed Cage but before anything else could happen, the lights went out and House of Black’s music played.

House of Black’s Malakai Black and Brody King came out and made their way to the ring. Cage responded to House of Black showing up to interrupt him and made fun of King for looking like Jelly Roll and HoB not being a trio anymore due to what they did to Matthews. Cage stated that as far as he is concerned, any notion of them being a contender is null and void. After some more words, Cage stated that perhaps Malakai is out here for some fatherly advice and brought up how the Patriarchy walked through the Bang Bang Gang a couple weeks ago. After some insults, Cage asked HoB what they were thinking coming out here. Black responded stating he was thinking of this …

This led to the lights going out again and when they came back on, Matthews was in ring ring standing alongside Black and King. The Patriarchy then ran out of the ring and tried to escape only to get cut off by the Bang Bang Gang and Kip Sabian. All of the Patriarchy except for Wayne managed to escape through the crowd while Wayne was left all by himself to get a beat down by HoB. Black then grabbed one of the AEW Trios titles only for Juice Robinson to get in the ring and grabbed onto the belt as well leading to a staredown between HoB and Bang Bang Gang.
