Adam Cole Ankle Injury & AEW Return Plans Status Update

As noted before, Adam Cole has been out of action for AEW since this past September due to an ankle injury.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Cole was in attendance backstage at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Norfolk, Virginia. Sapp reported that while it is not uncommon for injured talent to be backstage at AEW tapings, Cole had been taken off the road several months ago due to issues with traveling had seemed to be slowing down his recovery for an in-ring return.

Sapp reported that the word going around backstage at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show was that Cole was set to resume training for a potential in-ring return as early as next week.


Tony Khan Comments on His Belief of Contract Tampering with AEW Talents from WWE Has Not Stopped

A recent episode of The Dan LeBatard Show featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about if contract tampering issues by WWE towards AEW talents has gotten better since his comments in February of 2023.

“I don’t think that it has. It’s still happening. I will reserve all rights when it comes to that, but I don’t think that it’s stopped. I’ll leave it at that.”

Jim Ross Comments on Being Scheduled to Call the AEW World Title Match at All In 2024

A recent virtual fan signing event for Highspots featured Jim Ross as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ross’ thoughts about his current commentary schedule for AEW’s upcoming All In 2024 event.

“I’m getting ready to go to London for AEW. I think I’m scheduled to call the Bryan Danielson-Swerve match. And that’s gonna be a barnburner — a slobberknocker, if you will. Both of them are hungry, both of them are great.”
