Chelsea Green Comments on WWE Adding New Secondary Women’s Titles for Main Roster

A recent episode of The Ringer’s The Masked Man Show podcast featured Chelsea Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green’s thoughts about the recent reports about WWE planning to add new secondary women’s championships for their main roster women’s division.

“Well first of all, I don’t know that it’s been confirmed because I don’t know it (Green reacted to reports of WWE discussing secondary women’s titles for main roster). I only saw it on the internet. Whatever you guys are reading, I’m also reading too. I mean, of course I’m hoping and praying that that’s true because any more kind of spotlights that the women can get would be amazing. I do think it’s long overdue. Again, it’s just another step in the right direction. I didn’t even think this could happen two years ago and then now I’m like, yeah, of course it’s happening. It has to happen now that it’s on the internet. We need this to happen. Obviously, I think it would be amazing to showcase the women that could be the champions in the future but maybe we don’t see them in that light right now. Maybe we see them as kind of floaters or maybe they haven’t locked down their character, maybe they’re a funny girl, hmm, maybe me. There’s all these women that I just feel like, we have so much talent and we’re not able to showcase it all the time and so, putting another title in the mix, I think would just up the ante for that kind of mid-level girl who we know we can elevate them, we know they can get there. But maybe the fans don’t believe in them yet. Maybe they need that championship to showcase it; they can really lead a division. I think if this comes to fruition, this will be a game changer for the women’s locker room on Raw and SmackDown.”

Shelton Benjamin Comments on “WWE Not Doing Hurt Business vs. Bloodline was Huge Mishap

Metro UK held a recent interview with former WWE talent Shelton Benjamin. One of the topics discussed included Benjamin thoughts about him never being given an explanation from WWE officials over why the Hurt Business was dropped as a group and his belief that WWE not doing a Hurt Business vs. The Bloodline feud was a huge mishap.

“I consider (The Hurt Business) one of my defining contributions to the wrestling business. Definitely cut short too soon – way, way, way too soon. I feel like there’s even to this day, there’s still so much more that Hurt Business could offer, do.

There was definitely conversation and planning for the Hurt Business to make a return. And then things just changed,” he continued. ”They set dates, the dates changed and things changed. And then suddenly it was like, ‘Nope, we’re just not doing it.’

And that was… that was a kick in the balls.

For it to just be unceremoniously just stopped, for no apparent reason – it’s never been explained to me why it was ended. I know the company was high on Bobby (Lashley), and they really wanted to put him in a great position.

I love being a part of helping people succeed. But in the case of the Hurt Business, I felt like there was so much more for every individual in that to really elevate themselves within the company.

And I think the fact that there was no Hurt Business versus Bloodline war is one of the biggest mishaps in pro wrestling.”

In a recent interview with the What’s The Story podcast, Finn Balor gave his thoughts about his belief that Gunther is the best wrestler currently in the world. Balor stated “WALTER, Gunther, whatever you wanna call him, in my opinion, is probably the best performer on Earth right now. In my opinion, to watch in the ring. I get so oversaturated seeing so much stuff that I just kinda go ‘ahh cant be arsed watching this.’ I’ve not seen it all, but I’ve seen so much. I’m 43 now, so it’s like watching wrestling for 35 years, so it’s rare that I go, ‘Ah, I’m interested in this,’ but when WALTER gets in the ring, I’m interested. I want to see everything that he does. There’s no bits where I know what he’s going to do for the next five minutes. That’s one of the few matches in my career that I want to have. We tried to set it up right before COVID in NXT UK, then the world had a different plan for us. Then we went different ways, and now, we’re both heels, so I don’t know how that would work. I’ve expressed my opinion to the office that I would love to get that match, and hopefully, we can get it done in the future.” (Transcript h/t: WrestlingNews.co)

Bret Hart was the original excellence of execution and I feel AJ really follows that greatly in terms of, AJ was already somebody who was doing new things and breaking the rules and part of the revolution of the industry … And then finally here we actually saw a better version of him, that’s not always the case. With age, his game is complete in terms of how he is as a performer and a competitor.” Rhodes also gave his thoughts about his interest in a potential match against Marufuji in the future. Rhodes stated “It’s not hyperbole to say Marufuji on the other side of the ring is how important he is to modern pro wrestling and modern sports entertainment. I mean, if you hit the ropes behind another guy, you call that a ‘Marufuji.’ That’s what I do. That’s part of my comeback that I have in my own matches. The fact that I’ve never gotten in the ring with him, that’s something that could happen down the road.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
