Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Former ECW and WWE wrestler Blue Meanie reportedly was in attendance backstage at last weekend’s Impact! tapings for TNA Wrestling at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to Fightful Select.

The National Wrestling Alliance announced that they have recently signed Alexander Lev and Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage & Damage) & Aaron Stevens to new exclusive contracts with the company.

As noted before, NWA talent Joe Alonzo departed from the company this past Monday. In a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Alonzo gave his thoughts about his decision to leave the NWA. Alonzo stated “I was told, ‘Hey, you got a lot of people watching how you’re gonna handle this, so make sure you carry yourself as a professional.’ So it’s been kind of on my mind that I knew signing with the NWA, when I started, that NWA is not the end all, be all, and I don’t want to make anyone upset, but it is a stepping stone to get to bigger and better places. So when I signed with NWA, I knew that it was always gonna be short-lived, and they asked me to stay. What they were offering wasn’t what I was looking for. I asked if they could do better, and they offered me something else, but it was a little too long. I think the one thing that has been said repeatedly over the past couple of weeks into this decision was that the one thing that money can’t ever buy is time, and nobody is guaranteed time, so I just think this is the best decision for me. A lot of people said it was a bad decision, but I think it was a great decision, and when you bet on yourself, you can never go wrong, and there’s nobody to blame but yourself if things don’t go your way.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Violence X Suffering Wrestling promoter Isaac Rodriguez recently accused on Twitter of Triller TV (former FITE TV) owing his company money and not paying for their recent event on the service. Rodriguez also stated that other promoters have informed him that Triller TV has also withheld payments owned to them dating back to this past January. Rodriguez statedIt’s been MONTHS since our last show & the promotions who make your platform thrive are still waiting on payments. We’re constantly given runaround after runaround w/ zero support team & they dont realize some people depend on iPPV revenue to continue. This is not okay, @FiteTV And it’s not just VxS. I’ve confirmed w/ multiple promoters about not receiving any form of payout since January. This is why companies are moving away to build their own platforms. I feel insulted as a long time creator, user, & hope all creators are eventually taken cared of.
