As noted before, Marigold talent Giulia suffered a right wrist fracture injury at Marigold’s debut event this past May in Tokyo, Japan. WWE’s plans for Giulia’s potential debut in their company at their upcoming NXT Heatwave 2024 event was uncertain due to her injury situation and also something that had been conflicted in reports over if it ever was the actual plan.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Giulia will be on the road this weekend in Japan for Marigold despite her not being in action for their upcoming events. Meltzer reported that Giulia will not travel to Toronto for this Sunday’s NXT Heatwave 2024 event in Toronto and she was always planned to be at Marigold’s events this week.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that his sources confirmed that Giulia is not expected to be in attendance at WWE’s upcoming NXT event and will be with Marigold in Japan this weekend. Brennan reported that it is currently not known if WWE officials currently have plans to show Giulia on video or feature her in any way at their NXT Heatwave 2024 event.
Brennan reported that WWE officials currently expect her to be featured at their next NXT PLE event. Those spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that they expect NXT’s next event to take place over SummerSlam 2024 weekend. Those same sources reportedly also stated that WWE officials want Giulia on screen “as soon as possible” but also acknowledging that she needs to fulfill her commitments to Marigold first.
In regards to Giulia’s wrist injury, Brennan reported that Giulia currently expects to be medically cleared in time for Marigold’s Summer Destiny 2024 event on July 13th.
In regards to WWE’s current plans for Giulia’s official debut, those spoken to reportedly stated that “everything is on the table” when it comes to WWE officials creative plans for Giulia’s debut. Brennan reported that the current expectation is that Giulia will challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship for her debut plans but this is something that has not been set in stone.
Brennan also reported that Giulia had signed an official contract with WWE during WrestleMania 40 weekend this past April.
