This led to Eric Young coming out first to a serenade of “ole” chants by the crowd. After some time had passed, Hammerstone’s music played revealing him to be Young’s opponent for the impromptu match, which was won by Young.

This was Hammerstone’s first appearance in TNA since this past May due to an undisclosed injury.

Following the match, Steph De Lander came out to the ring and joined in on the victory celebration. De Lander grabbed a microphone and proceeded to drop to her knee. De Lander pulled out a ring and proposed to PCO asking if he will marry her. After giving it some thought, PCO responded stating saying yes in French. Earl Hebner Makes Surprise Appearance & “Speedball” Mike Bailey Wins TNA X-Division Title at Slammiversary 2024

Saturday’s TNA Slammiversary 2024 event also featured wrestling referee legend Earl Hebner making a surprise appearance and “Speedball” Mike Bailey defeating Mustafa Ali to become the new TNA X-Division Champion.

Near the end of the match, Bailey attempted to hit a superkick to Ali, who ducked resulting in the referee getting hit and laid out. This led to Ali’s security guards surrounding the ring and brawled with Bailey. Bailey managed to fight off the security guards but left himself open to being laid out by Campaign Singh who struck Bailey with the X-Division title. Ali’s security team then held down Bailey for Ali to hit a set of 450 Splashes and went for the pinfall that was broken up after a masked security member pulled the referee out of the ring. This mystery person took over their helmet revealing himself to be Trent Seven. This led to a Seven brawling with Ali’s security and Singh that ended after Ali hit a dive to Seven to take him out. Ali proceeded to attack Seven and Bailey with a chair and gave an “X” signal.

This led to Hebner coming out to loud boos and “You Screwed Bret” chants from the crowd and made his way to the ring. Ali then locked in a Sharpshooter to Bailey leading to Hebner becoming conflicted over calling for the bell or not. This led to an angry Ali breaking his hold and yelled at Hebner for not doing what he was told. Ali grabbed a chair but before he could do anything with it, Bailey laid out Ali and locked in the Sharpshooter resulting in Ali submitting and Hebner calling for the bell.

This is Bailey’s second reign as TNA X-Division champion and his second championship victory of his TNA/Impact career.
