TNA Wrestling reportedly drew an attendance of 3,500 for their Slammiversary 2024 event on July 20th at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that the breakdown was 3,000 paid tickets and the rest as comp tickets. Meltzer reported that the bulk of the sales was due to PCO who had spearheaded the local promotion and had put together a team to help sell tickets for the event. PCO reportedly used all of his contacts from the past thirty years to pull off his plans.
Meltzer reported that PCO was the one who came up with the idea to hold a dark match Battle Royal at the event that would feature local indies talents being booked for the match if they had sold a number of tickets for the event. The winner of this match was Carl LeDuc, who Meltzer reported had sold 300 tickets for Slammiversary.
In regards to the live gate for Slammiversary 2024, Meltzer reported that his sources confirmed that it drew a lower live gate revenue than this past January’s Hard to Kill 2024 event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Meltzer reported that the reason was due to the average ticket price for Slammiveresary was a lot cheaper than Hard to Kill’s average ticket price.
In regards to pay-per-view buys, Meltzer reported that Slammiversary 2024 had generated around 2,200 cable television PPV buys for its first week and up compared to the 450 buys that this past April’s Rebellion 2024 event did after its first week of sales. Meltzer reported that Slammiversary 2024 is currently down 66.2% compared to this past January’s Hard To Kill 2024 buys for the same number of days after the event. Meltzer also reported that those within TNA spoken to stated that the streaming buys on TNA+ for Slammiversary was higher than Hard To Kill.
