Unified World Trios Championship Proving Ground Match
The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, & Alex Reynolds) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn))

This Trios Proving Ground match gave the Dark Order a chance to fight for a future shot at the ROH Trios Championships, currently held by Bullet Club Gold. All the Order had to do was last 10 minutes or pin one of their opponents.

Fun Fact: The Unified ROH/AEW Trios Titles are the only ones defended on both AEW and ROH shows, so the Champions must pull double duty.

Using a modified Freebird Rule, Robinson took the place of Jay White, who was “out with injury.” Uno kicked things off against Austin and the crowd was hot. Austin found himself isolated early, but Robinson and Colton broke things up, keeping the match on an even keel.

Robinson at one point climbed into the ring and pretended to be a dog and pee on Uno (no, really), causing an enraged Reynolds to chase him around the ring. That left Reynolds open to an attack by Colton though, to the frustration of Uno and Silver.

Time began getting short as Robinson and Reynolds both leapt for hot tags, pitting Uno against both Gunns. He hit relentless splashes into the corner(s), and when Robinson tried to help, all three Bullet Clubbers were set up for a big triple dropkick.

Eventually, the Gunns hit a 3:10 to Yuma on an unsuspecting Reynolds and managed to put an end to the Proving Ground match and get the win for their team.

Winner: Bang Bang Gang via Pinfall.

ROH World Tag Team Championship Proving Ground Match
Metalik & Komander vs. Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)

Taven and Bennett have been on top of the ROH tag division for quite some time now. Last week, they lamented the lack of competition and literally prayed to “booker-man” Tony Khan for someone to fight on their level. Khan’s response can seconds later in the form of Metalik and Komander. If they could pin or outlast the Champions to a 10-minute Draw, they would get a guaranteed title shot in the future.

Taven and Komander started things off and it was apparent that Taven was little confused by the luchadore style. He tried to utilize his height advantage though but the speed of Komander was hard to contain. A missed double team led to a hot tag to Metalik and he managed to put Taven down and take Bennett on one-on-one.

Metalik and Komander held control through the first half of the match, landing big splashes and dives through the ropes, keeping the champions on their heels, both in and out of the ring. A miscommunication though left Metalik on his own against a double team from The Kingdom at the halfway mark of the match.

Bennett picked up the urgency, looking to put away Metalik as fast as he could to avoid time running out. The luchadore wasn’t going down easily though, hitting a sunset bomb off the top rope. Komander followed it up with a spinning DDT on Taven.

As the time limit crept closer to expiration, Bennett and Taven resorted to a little bit of good ol’ fashioned heeling and hit a bit double team on Metalik after taking out Komander. This got them the pin and the win.

Winner: Undisputed Kingdom via Pinfall.

ROH Pure Championship Proving Ground Match
Lee Moriarty vs. Wheeler Yuta

As with all Proving Ground matches, if the challenger (Moriarty) can pin or wrestle the Champion (Yuta) to a 10-minute draw, then Moriarty would get a shot at the ROH Pure Title at a later date.

Yuta, a member of the Blackpool Combat Club, matched up with Moriarty in size and speed really well. Unlike the previous two Proving Ground matches, a countdown clock was shown for this match which greatly added to the tension. Being able to see how little time was left really added an exciting aspect to the match.

At 7:43 Moriarty literally kicked Yuta out of mid-air, taking a bit of an upper hand in the match. Borrowing from his BCC teammate, Yuta tried a series of European uppercuts, but Moriarty was able to defend against them and lock in an arm-based submission move. Yuta reversed it though and the two took a breath.

Yuta, with about 5 minutes left managed to reverse a straightjacket hold, forcing Moriarty to use a rope break. As time ticked down, Yuta tossed Moriarty to the outside and dove through the ropes after him. Tossing him back in the ring, Yuta executed a series of suplexes on Moriarty.

With 90 seconds remaining, the match stayed pretty even. Yuta tried to pick up the pace, and caught Moriarty in an attempted pile driver. The two exchanged pinning attempts as the clock ticked down to less than a minute.

Fifteen Seconds were left as the two resorted to simple brawling, exchanging shots as time ran out relegating the match to a draw. However, Moriarty lasted the 10 minutes, so he gets a guaranteed shot at Yuta’s ROH Pure championship!

Winner: None.

Following the match, Shane Taylor Promotions’ Shane Taylor & Anthony Ogogo came out to confront Yuta leading to Yuta rolling out of the ring to safety. Taylor and Ogogo celebrated with Moriarty and Taylor pointed at Moriarty saying he will be the next Pure Champ.
