As noted before, this past Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank 2024 event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada featured John Cena making a surprise appearance and announcing he will be holding a retirement tour in 2025.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Cena’s upcoming retirement tour in WWE will be a “heavily promoted tour.” Cena reportedly is currently planned to be around fairly often in WWE throughout 2025 for his retirement tout.
Sapp reported that WWE officials have held talks about how Cena would be used and how many dates he would commit to for this upcoming tour due to his busy work schedule outside of the company. WWE officials reportedly have also held talks about how Cena will be used in the company after he retires from in-ring wrestling. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Cena would be “seen on-screen again” after the conclusion of his tour.
Several talent spoken to reportedly stated that they are angling or plan to angle in hopes of being able to work with Cena during his upcoming tour. Several talents reportedly have already publicly expressed their interest in doing so on social media.
