Bryan Danielson’s AEW Wrestling Contract Set to Expire on August 1st

As noted before, Bryan Danielson’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire before AEW’s All In 2024 event on August 25th.

AEW held a recent backstage interview with Danielson. One of the topics discussed included Danielson revealing that his wrestling contract with AEW is currently set to expire on August 1st.

“That’s true (that my AEW contract is up in August). Well, August 1st actually. Next Thursday. My wrestling contract is up, which also happens to be my son’s fourth birthday.

I’m not saying this — Tony (Khan) talked about this in an interview so I feel comfortable talking about it. I’m not MJF’ing this and being like, trying to use my contract being up and being like, ‘Oh! I’m gonna get all the money. Somebody give me all the money!’ Yeah, my contract is up August 1st. When I signed this contract, me and Brie (Garcia), we talked about how this would be the last wrestling contract I was gonna sign… Part of me is wondering what life is like after this. Part of me is excited about that. But, right now, even though Wembley is after this, I still have to focus on that, right? That’s gotta be kind of my focus and so, yeah… It’s a wild time.”

Danielson also gave his thoughts about AEW head doctor Michael J. Sampson does not want him wrestling until AEW’s All In 2024 event.

“I guess the bigger thing is that Doc Sampson doesn’t want me to wrestle until Wembley and that’s actually the harder part. The part of, ‘What do you mean? I’m here in Nashville!’ That sort of thing so…

Even talking to Doc Sampson, there’s like, ‘I gotta go hard, I gotta do this’ and he’s like, ‘Listen, right now, your neck is fixable. Better make sure that it stays fixable…’”
