Britt Baker Reveals She Suffered Mini-Stroke Health Incident for Reason for AEW Absence & Issues Challenge for Match Against Mercedes Mone at AEW All In 2024

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2024 show at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois featured Britt Baker revealing the official reason why she was absent for the past ten months from AEW.

During the show, AEW commentator and interviewer Tony Schiavone was in the ring and introduced Baker to everyone, who received a loud ovation from the crowd. Baker came out and stated that she misses everyone and thoughts way to long about she was going to say. After some more words, Baker stated for the last ten months everyone asked where was Britt and the answer was she is injured. Baker stated that back in November, she was banged up and not mentally good. Baker stated that she had blurred vision and her arm was tingly to the point she could not open a bottle of water. Baker stated that she spent a week in the hospital and was diagnosed with suffering a mini-stroke over her brain was not getting enough blood. Baker stated that she told Tony Khan about her story and Khan responded telling her to stay home and take the time needed to recover. Baker stated that she is now cleared and healthy and was never more nervous and unsure of herself when she came out at Forbidden Door. Baker stated that she wondered if anyone would really care and at Forbidden Door, when she needed wrestling and the fans the most, they welcomed her back with open arms, so she’ll always be in the fans corner. Baker stated that this gave her the impulse to be elite.

Baker then turned her attention towards Mercedes Mone and stated that she heard there is a new female face of AEW and it must be so rewarding for her, which she revealed to be the “CEO.” Baker then gave a dig at Mone saying that the CEO has her chant piped in and the only three letters that matter in AEW is “DMD.”

This led to a car horns being heard and a car being shown driving into the parking lot. Mone came out and was greeted by the EVPs and exchanged friendly banter between the two. The EVPs stated that it was time for her Double Champion Celebration ceremony, which led to AEW stage hands coming out with balloons and portraits of Mone to decorate the ring while Baker was still standing in the middle of it.

Mone then came out to the ring and grabbed a microphone saying “oops, Britt did I interrupt something?” After some more words boasting about herself and mocking the Chicago crowd, Mone told Baker to get a look at what a real star looks like. Baker responded back stating “All In.” Baker talked about how she was the first female to wrestle at All In and wrestled at All In last year when Mone was looking like a broken bitch with a broken leg in the stands. Baker then issued a challenge to Mone at All In 2024. Mone responded stating Britt eeds to get in the back of the line. Baker responded asking Mone “what line?” leading to Mone responding back stating that “there is a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Mone.” Mone then held up her TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s titles and left the ring.
