Tony Khan Comments on Ricochet Being “One of the Most Exciting Stars in All of Wrestling”

As noted before, Ricochet’s contract with WWE expired this past Monday and is currently expected to be joining AEW.

ComicBook.com held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about Ricochet potentially joining AEW in the future.

“I’m a huge fan of Ricochet. I think he’s a great, great wrestler,” Khan said. “He’s been involved in matches against some of the top stars in AEW. He also has a great history in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as he’s been a champion there and a top star. We have great collaboration there and I love the history of New Japan and I think he’s a big part of it. During a great era when a lot of our top stars were wrestling there, he was a big part of it. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Ricochet and think he’s one of the top athletes and one of the most exciting stars in all of wrestling.”

Update on Darby Allin’s Rafters Entrance on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite 250 Show

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite 250 show in Little Rock, Arkansas featured a show closing mass brawl segment involving The Elite and Team AEW to hype up next week’s Blood & Guts 2024 match and show between the two teams. This brawl was notable for Darby Allin coming out from the rafters and being rappelled down to the ring in homage to Sting.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that prior to the show, AEW officials had asked Martha Hart for her blessing to do the rafter entrance for Allin at the show.

Britt Baker Comments on Her Return to AEW at Forbidden Door 2024

As noted before, Britt Baker made her surprise return from injury to AEW at this past June’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event.

A recent episode of the AEW Close Up show on YouTube featured Baker as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Baker’s thoughts about her return from injury came together in time for AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door 2024 event.

“It all came together very last minute. It was cemented the night before. I didn’t have time to prepare anything. It was very off to the races. I wouldn’t change that because nobody knew. I was at home and with my family. It was very scattered, but I wouldn’t change anything about it. You don’t have to overthink it, it didn’t get leaked, which is so hard in wrestling. It’s so frustrating that everything gets spoiled. I didn’t tell anybody—none of my best friends. I was a nervous wreck. ‘They’re not going to care. No one is going to give a shit that I’m here because AEW has surpassed me.’ That’s such a horrible feeling. The fear of rejection is worse than the rejection itself.”

Baker also gave her thoughts about how she felt over the reaction she received from the crowd for her return.

“I had goosebumps. It’s cliche, but you kind of blackout for a second. You lose all sensation. Your mind doesn’t work. I was afraid my legs weren’t going to work and I wasn’t going to be able to walk through the tunnel because I was so nervous. Then, it’s the instinct that when your music hits and you hear the crowd when they boo or cheer, as soon as you hear that, it’s all the fuel you need, and here we are. DMD, we’re back.”
