Tony Khan Comments on Bryan Danielson Plans on Staying with AEW ‘For a Long Time’”

A recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about the veterans on AEW’s roster and Bryan Danielson being a huge part of the company.

“We have so many great captains on this team, and that’s what’s really exciting. We have great leadership, great people here, and nobody greater, I think it’s fair to say, Bryan Danielson is a huge part of the company.

I can’t say how much time Bryan has left in the ring, but he has said this will be his final year, and this is gonna be the year Bryan hangs them up from up full-time wrestling. At that point, it’s gonna be a sad day for pro wrestling and for me personally. But it’s great to be able to have Bryan that I can call and talk to and have in the locker room with us every week.”

Khan also have his thoughts about Danielson planning to stay with AEW for a “long time” after he retires from his active in-ring wrestling career.

“Absolutely, 100%. I hope Bryan will stay here for the rest of his life, and I know he’s planning to stay with us for a long time going forward as part of the company. I would want Bryan to stay with us as long as humanly possible.”

MJF Comments on His Torn Labrum & Dislocated Hip Injuries at AEW Full Gear 2023 Being “Most Pain I’ve Ever Been In”

A recent episode of The Wrestling Classic podcast featured MJF as the guest. One of the topics discussed included MJF’s thoughts about his match against Jay White at this past November’s AEW Full Gear 2023 event and him suffering a torn labrum and dislocated hip injuries during it being the most pain he has ever been in.

“In the Jay White match – I beat him on one leg by the way no big deal – I hit an elbow drop from the top rope to the floor because I was trying to impress people that I thought cared about me, later on I found out they didn’t. My hip popped out of socket and because I thought those people cared about me I fought through it for, I think, another 20 minutes.

(White) hit me with a uranage off the top rope and I landed directly on my left shoulder and my labrum just snapped entirely in half.

It was the most pain I’ve ever been in my entire life and then somebody tells me you need to do a press conference and I go ‘Oh, I love the wrestling fans, I’ll do a press conference and I’ll fight through these tears. And once again wrestling fans showed me they don’t care about me, they made memes about it, they thought it was funny. Hands down the most pain I’ve ever been in and nobody cared.”

Darby Allin Comments on His Plan B for Entrance at AEW Dynamite 250 Would Have Been to Bring Back the Flamethrower

The July 17th AEW Dynamite 250 show in Little Rock, Arkansas was notable for Darby Allin being rappelled down from the rafters for his entrance during the show closing brawl between Team AEW and The Elite. Prior to the show, Martha Hart gave her blessing to AEW to do the entrance for Allin.

A recent episode of the Battleground Podcast featured Allin as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Allin revealing that Plan B for his special entrance at the show had Hart not given her blessing was for him come out again with a flamethrower.

“Plan B was coming back out with the flamethrower [laughs], torching a fool. But no, I was sitting right by Tony [Khan], and she walked up right before she was going to go out, when she presented Danielson with the trophy for the Owen Hart Foundation, and Tony’s like, ‘Hey, we were thinking of Darby coming down from the ceiling. She’s like, ‘First of all, I love your work, Darby, and I trust AEW with everything, all the precautions.’ Because we’ve got a great team. So it seemed like there was no hesitation on her part. It was cool because I was right there and just talked to her, and she knows how everybody goes about things. So much safety went into that. We don’t mess around.”
