AEW: Swerve Strickland on Goal to Make This Year’s Blood & Guts Match “Unique & Different”, Royal Rampage Match Set for 7/26 Rampage, Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Training for In-Ring Return

Swerve Strickland Comments on Wanting to Make This Year’s AEW Blood & Guts Match “Unique and Different”

Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with Swerve Strickland. One of the topics discussed included Strickland’s thoughts about what fans can expect for the Blood & Guts match between Team AEW and Team The Elite on tonight’s AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2024 show.

“Expect blood. Expect guys to step up and become something more than they already are.

This is our Marvel civil war. On one side you’ve got Iron Man leading the pack, and on the other side is Captain America leading the pack. And both have their own beliefs, and both believe they’re right and the other side is wrong.

Making this the most unique and different Blood and Guts, that’s the goal. There’s a lot of stories being told.

A lot of us are in it for the first time and stepping up. We get to see Mark Briscoe and The Acclaimed in this match, and we’ll see them jump up to the next level. I’m proud of these guys and I’m proud to be in there with them.

It’s almost time. I’m hungry to get started.”

Strickland also gave his thoughts about Darby Allin being involved in this year’s match.

“No one is stopping him from whatever he wants to do.”
