Dijak Comments on Tony Khan Being Made Aware of His Interest in Joining AEW

Forbes held a recent interview with Donovan Dijak, former Dijak in WWE. One of the topics discussed included Dijak’s thoughts about his recent backstage visit to AEW at this past Sunday’s Forbidden Door 2024 event in Long Island, New York.

“I was. I got to see Mark (Briscoe) for the first time in—God—I guess seven years [at Forbidden Door]. So that was super exciting. He’s always wonderful to be around. I saw his kids were at the show, and the last time I saw them, they were literally babies. His wife had babies and now they’re walking around. I guess they’re older than my son. So yeah, it was fun to see him and catch up.”

Dijak also gave his thoughts about if someone had invited him to AEW and NJPW’s event or if he reached out to AEW instead.

“Nobody [invited me]. I showed up uninvited (laughs). No, Mojo [Rawley] and Steve [Kaye] both arranged that for me. They have great connections. Steve was there with me, so he brought me along, brought me in. I don’t know if anything needs to be approved by Tony specifically or if they just kind of have people going in and out. But I know that Tony has been made aware of my interest, and I know that there’s reciprocal respect if nothing else.”

AEW News & Notes

TNA Wrestling talent Mustafa Ali reportedly was in attendance backstage at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2024 show in Chicago, Illinois, according to PWInsider.

As noted before, this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2024 show in Chicago featured Britt Baker revealing that the reason for her lengthy absence from AEW was due to her suffering a mini-stroke health incident last year. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Baker’s story about her suffering a mini-stroke was 100% legitimate and not for storyline purposes.

In a recent interview with Metro UK, Will Ospreay gave his thoughts about dealing with autism as a wrestler. Ospreay stated “I feel like it’s excelled my abilities to the point where I do think I’m at a superhero level, super genius level of pro wrestling now. But I honestly don’t know. The truth is, I take every single day as it comes. I do feel like this has helped me out so much because it helped me dive into something that I genuinely love, and I think about constantly and I want everyone else to feel the same love that I feel. But in the same way, I do understand when people see someone and go, I’ve got the same thing as you do and you’re on this stage. So like I do get it. And like, the goal was never gonna be an electrician or a good one anyway, I’ve blown up about four or five kitchens. [laughs] But like I was just obsessed and like I had like a fixation on wrestling. If anyone is struggling with that and is struggling to find their joy and their happiness, because they feel like this is holding you back – don’t let it hold you back. Look straight ahead at where you want to get to and then you’ll find a way of getting there.
