AEW: Aug. 3 AEW Collision Show Given New Early Start Time Change, AEW Content Added to MAX Internationally, Forbidden Door 2024 PPV Buys Update

August 3rd AEW Collision Show to Air Prior to WWE’s SummerSlam 2024

The August 3rd AEW Collision show is currently scheduled to be preempted to an earlier start time that night.

In a recent schedule listing update by TNT, it was revealed that AEW’s upcoming show will be airing starting at 5PM EST on the network that night.

This means that AEW’s show will no longer be going head-to-head against WWE’s SummerSlam 2024 event, which is scheduled to start at 7PM EST.

AEW’s show on August 3rd is currently scheduled to be taped on August 1st at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas as part of AEW’s upcoming residency stay in the city.

AEW Content Reportedly Added to MAX Internationally

Fightful reported that AEW content was recently added to Warner Bros Discovery’s MAX streaming service for their international markets.

Several MAX subscribers reportedly have recently noticed that AEW television shows and pay-per-view events had been added to the service for those outside of the United States.

Besides the United States, MAX subscribers in Canada also currently do not have access to AEW content on the service at the moment.

It is currently not known if this is an indication that AEW and WBD have signed a new streaming deal or if this content will also be made available for US and Canada subscribers at some point.

Forbidden Door 2024 PPV Buys Update

As noted before, AEW was estimated to have generated around 120,000 to 127,0000 pay-per-view buys for this past June’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event in Long Island, New York.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Forbidden Door 2024’s PPV buys are currently down 16.6% compared to this past May’s Double or Nothing 2024 event and down 1.5% compared to this past April’s Dynasty event based on the same number of days after the event.

Meltzer reported that this would give a new estimated range of 115,000 to 120,000 PPV buys for the event based on updated late buys purchases numbers.
