CM Punk Responds to Drew McIntyre “Quitting” WWE & Reunion Moment with Paul Heyman, McIntyre Responds Beating Up Punk

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show featured CM Punk responding to Drew McIntyre “quitting” WWE and engaged in a reunion moment with Paul Heyman.

At the start of the show, CM Punk made his way out to the ring to a loud reaction from his hometown town crowd. After some words about being grateful to be out here tonight and in Chicago, Punk talked about July 17, 2011 when he promised himself and everyone that he was going to walk out of his hometown the WWE Champion. After some more words, Punk stated that for weeks and months, Drew McIntyre kicked him while he was down and because of promises he always made and kept, Drew was also kicking Chicago. Punk stated that you can do three things, either stay down with is not an option, you can get up and turn the other cheek but he is from Chicago and that is not an option, or chose the Chicago way and if they want to send him to the hospital then he will send them to the morgue. Punk stated that he planned on burying Drew’s career six feet under but he did not think it would be that easy. Punk stated that Drew quit because he could not take the pressure and Drew took his ball and went home.

This led to Paul Heyman coming out to interrupt and made his way to the ring. Heyman stated that he is not out to disrespect Punk. Heyman stated that of all people, he would never disrespect him. After some more words, Heyman stated that despite being the wise man for the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, Heyman told the world that Punk was his best friend. Heyman stated that he meant it than and he means it now. Heyman then stated that he is out in an urgent situation. After some more words between Heyman and Punk, the two hugged each other in the ring. A tearful Heyman stated that he needed that and he came out because while driving to the show, The Bloodline listed to the radio saying that Chicago is Punk’s town and that pissed off Solo Sikoa because now that Solo is the head of the table, Solo wants every town to be his town. After some more words praising Punk, Heyman told Punk that if he does not get out of the ring right now, they are coming for him and for Punk to please get out of there right now.

This lead to The Bloodline’s music playing and Sikoa, Tama Tonga, & Tonga Loa coming out to ringside. After some threatening words by Sikoa and insults in return bu Punk, Punk asked Heyman what was the favor that he wanted if he does something for him in return. Heyman responded for Punk to take him away with him.

This led to The Bloodline getting into the ring and confronting Punk but before a brawl could break out, Cody Rhodes ran out with baseball bats and handed one to Punk causing The Bloodline to quickly get out of the ring. Rhodes grabbed a microphone and stated that Solo thinks he is the Head of the Table but he has already beaten one Head of the Table and challenged Sikoa to a match tonight.

In a follow-up segment, Sikoa and Heyman were backstage in the Bloodline’s locker room. Sikoa asked Heyman is he wants to leave and Heyman says he does not. Sikoa tells Heyman that before he leaves with Punk, he needs him to mention to the rest of the Bloodline something. Heyman responded stating that he will take care of it right now. Sikoa responded stating that when Heyman comes back, they need to have a talk.

In another follow-up segment, Grayson Waller was being interviewed backstage by Kayla Braxton that was interrupted by a loud banging sound on the garage door in the background. This led to the garage door opening revealing McIntyre standing in front of a bloodied Punk. McIntyre picked up Punk and carried him out to the stage and proceeded to drop him onto the floor. McIntyre then mocked Punk’s entrance taunt as SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and WWE officials ran out to check on Punk and stop McIntyre from doing anything else.

In another follow-up segment, Sikoa was backstage preparing to make his entrance for his match against Rhodes. Heyman walked up to Sikoa and stated that he did what he asked him to do and the Tongans took care of Owens. Heyman stated that Solo is breaking commandments and Roman told him before he got on his plane after WrestleMania that Punk was off limits and no one would touch him. Sikoa responded stating that he loves him but Roman is not coming back leading to a shocked reaction from Heyman.
