Randy Orton Comments on Being Happy for WWE’s New Era & Vince McMahon Being Gone from WWE

A recent episode of Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast featured Randy Orton as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Orton’s thoughts about him being happy that WWE has entered a new era under its new management regime and Vince McMahon being gone from the company.

“Off the top of my head — and, listen, I love Vince, he gave me so many opportunities. But I think it was kind of time for him to move on. It’s unfortunate that it happened in the way that it happened. But it’s nice having people in charge of me that understand how important it is for you to be home for birthdays, and home for Thanksgiving, and home for Christmas.

Vince McMahon, he had Raw on Monday night live. He doesn’t care if you had kids. I came to him when I was 35 and my back really started going and I pleaded with him like, ‘Man, I got to like not do as many shows, maybe do half the tour and be able to recover.’ And he just looked at me and was like, ‘Oh, I need you on those shows, Randy. Mother Nature gets us all.’ And to hear that and go, ‘Ok, well I guess there’s no other thing I can do other than just wear myself out down to the nub until I can’t walk anymore for this man.’ And all of the opportunities he gave me, it’s nice having him out of there. And it’s nice having his son-in-law Triple H running the game. Nick Khan’s great. Everybody at TKO that’s come in [and] stepped in, they seem to get it. And it’s just a different era…

I think the way that they care for talent nowadays and make sure that talent’s good and if they need a little bit of a break — we’re only human — they get it, most of the time.”

He’s helped me with a few things that I feel like, if the crowd knew about it, they would be very grateful that he did. I’m just going to leave it there. Shoutout to CM Punk, man. In a recent interview with the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, former WWE talent Jinder Mahal gave his thoughts about how he originally did not like his Majahara entrance theme song but Vince McMahon was a big fan of the song and even danced to it. Mahal stated “I get that a lot. A lot of people tell me that, like, ‘Your theme’s a banger.’ Even a lot of the boys. Actually, Tamina told me one time my entrance music was playing, and Vince was dancing in Gorilla Position. Yeah [laughs]. I said the same thing. ‘What?’ So yeah, he was dancing in Gorilla, like Indian dancing [laughs].” Mahal continued stating “Yeah, I didn’t actually like it that much. Because based off of what I had given them as inspiration, it was nothing like that. [I gave them] other Punjabi songs. There’s an artist called Diljit [Dosanjh], I gave them some of his songs as a sample. But I love it. It’s good. I love it now. It grew on me. It’s a dope song, perfect for me. My music got switched temporarily when I was with Shanky, but likely it got brought back. When I was in NXT, they brought it back.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
