Damian Priest Comments on Ankle Injury Suffered at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024

Saturday’s WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 event at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland featured Damian Priest suffering an apparent ankle injury during his match against Drew McIntyre for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This injury took place following a spot involving Priest attempting to hit a step up sunset dive to McIntyre on the outside only to get his foot caught in the ropes and hanged upside down for some time while the referee tried to free him and McIntyre looked on in bewilderment for a bit over what had just happened.

Following the show, Priest provided an update on his ankle injury at WWE’s post-show press conference confirming that he had hurt his ankle but did not know the severity of it since he had yet to get a medical checkup done.

“It feels like trash right now. I didn’t even go to medical so I could do this and answer your questions. The docs will check it out. I’m not going anywhere. I was able to beat Drew McIntyre on one foot, so I’m pretty sure I’m good to go.”

I got permission to skip Raw in Corpus Christi to go home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea that I’m going to be cleared. I think SmackDown is in Chicago next week. I’m a Raw guy, but I’m going to skip Raw, get cleared, and show up to SmackDown and let everybody know the good news. Hopefully.”

Update on WWE’s Current Plans for Return of the Wyatt Family Stable

As noted before, WWE currently has plans for Bo Dallas and the Uncle Howdy character’s return to the company. These plans also include the return of the Wyatt Family with Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Nikki Cross as the members for this new group.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Dallas, Cross, Lumis, and Rowan are all currently expected to be part of the new Wyatt Family group. It was reported that additional members are also expected to be included but the names of these members have yet to be confirmed by their sources.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE’s plans for this new group had been in the works for quite some time and WWE officials currently believe that there is a real chance this new group will work with modern wrestling.

Those spoken to reportedly also stated that a heavy talking point within WWE was that it was often difficult to make The Fiend and Bray Wyatt programs work in the ring. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that they claim that this would not be an issue due to the lack of supernatural elements current planned and presented for the new group.

It was reported that while Uncle Howdy is expected to be part of this new group, there were also past talks about Mercy The Buzzard, Huskus Pig, and the White Rabbit characters being included but a lot of the visuals surrounding this new group have been kept as a very close secret within WWE.
