WWE: Cody Rhodes on It Being a”Red Flag” When a Veteran Says They Are Just Here to Help Young Talent, Triple H on Jacob Fatu Being a “Game Changer”, More News

Cody Rhodes Comments on It Being a “Red Flag” When a Veteran Says They Are Only Here to Help Out Younger Talent

A recent episode of the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast featured Cody Rhodes as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rhodes’ thoughts about his belief that it is a red flag when a veteran or wrestling legend stated that they are only just here to help out younger talent.

“I’ll tell you the number one red flag I hear. If you meet a guy who is a legend who is coming in on the roster and he’s going to be active, or a part-time guy who is on the roster and going to be active, whatever it may be. The number one red flag if you’re a young or in the middle of the pack talent is when you hear somebody say, ‘I’m just here for the young guys.’ I already know you’re not just here for the young guys. I would rather you tell me straight up, ‘You know, I’m here for some of yall, and I’m here for myself.’

This is a selfish, competitive business. I like the most transparent of people who just (say), ‘Hey, here’s what I’d like to do, let’s do it.’ Whenever I hear, ‘I’m here for the young guys’ which is not often and not anytime (recently) I’ve heard that, in my mind, instantly like it’s the biggest red flag ever. That’s it. I’d rather hear him tell us he’s here just for himself.”

Triple H Comments on Jacob Fatu’s WWE Debut & Fatu Being a “Game Changer”

As noted before, this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show featured former Major League Wrestling talent Jacob Fatu making his surprise official debut in WWE.

A recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about Fatu’s recent debut in WWE.

“When you talk about Tribal Chief, you’re talking about Roman Reigns, no matter who lays claim to that now. You see the Bloodline carrying on. You see Solo putting himself out there as the Tribal Chief. You see Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa coming in. You see those guys starting to run wild. Then, the game changer happens of Jacob Fatu coming in. He’s a game changer. You very clearly see that shift of ‘we’re running the show now. This is the new Tribal Chief. This is the new Head of the Table.’ That’s only going to last so long before there is a return. Let’s hope that Heyman’s nerves can take it. He looks like he’s on his very last nerve. It’s an exciting time. That is ramping up big and they’re starting to go after Cody Rhodes and the WWE Title.”

This past Tuesday’s NXT show featured NXT talent Noam Dar stating that he is currently out of action due to a “torn tendon” injury in his leg. During a backstage segment involving Meta-Four, Dar stated in a video call that he suffered the injury at the hands of Ethan Page. It is currently not known if Dar’s injury is just for storyline purposes or if his injury is legitimate.

As noted before, a lawsuit against WWE was filed this past March by a person named Richard Bryant claiming that he had suffered hearing injuries over “negligence and carelessness” caused by WWE’s handling of pyrotechnics at a SmackDown show he attended in Orlando, Florida in July of 2022. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that The United States District Court for the District of Connecticut had set a trial date of August 18, 2025 for Bryant’s lawsuit against WWE based on recent court records.

In a recent interview with the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Rey Mysterio gave his thoughts about his belief that his son Dominik is “most definitely” a future WWE World Champion. Mysterio stated “Oh, definitely. Most definitely. Dom, he’s getting really good at what he’s doing, and he’s understanding the craft. The fact that he’s where he’s at with such little time. Like, I wish I could be there, or I could have been there, with four years of being in the business. I didn’t know sh*t at four years. Not only me, I mean that, yes, I am his father, but the fact that he’s been able to be in there with the best: Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, John Cena,” Rey said. “All these moments are moments that give you the ability to learn. So I think he’s taken very well advantage of those moments.” (Transcript h/t: F4WOnline.com)

In a recent interview with the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Cody Rhodes gave his thoughts about WWE’s recent international-based PLE events. Rhodes stated “One of the things I’m enjoying most post-WrestleMania is all of these international PLEs. I have no clue why the audience vibes with me, as basically the big dumb American with the American flag tattooed on the side of his neck. Internationally is sometimes where I get the most love. I didn’t have a college experience. This is my global education. My connection with sports entertainment and wrestling fans worldwide. I’m so thankful I’m able to do that. I always say, I’d understand if they didn’t want to cheer for me in France and Saudi. I’d understand. They’ve completely jumped on board with it. Internationally, it’s been eye opening. Again, big dumb American from the state of Georgia. I’ve learned so much from doing these international PLEs. Shoutout to Nick Khan for making these possible because it’s giving me an experience of a lifetime while I’m performing.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
