Chad Gable States He Has Signed New Deal with WWE
As noted before, Chad Gable’s contract with WWE is believed to have expired on June 7th but despite his contract situation, he is still scheduled to compete for the Intercontinental Championship at Saturday’s Clash at the Castle 2024 event in Glasgow, Scotland.
A recent episode of The Gorilla Position podcast featured Gable as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Gable revealing that he recently signed a new contract with WWE to remain in the company for the foreseeable future.
“Yes, I have. What I’ll say, regarding Hunter [Triple H]. When he got started with us and took over. I think you saw my trajectory change almost immediately. Even when I was in a tag team with Otis, I started getting singles matches with some of our top guys. To me, a light bulb went off, ‘things might be different now,’ and they have been ever since. He’s delivered on everything he’s ever told me. When I first came to him, and me and Otis were floundering and not doing much, he said what he was doing was trying to find consistent places on TV for everybody every week. Whether it was a little chunk of TV or a big one; everyone should be involved at some point. At the time, I was like, ‘I’ve heard all this before,’ and it gets to you, but I saw it was true, and it was delivered. Even if we only had a minute or two every week, we were getting it and we were involved in something and maximizing our minutes. The fact that he delivers on what he says, it has gone a long way with someone like me. Now, that’s paying off and I’m having the run of my life and I’m having a blast.”

This reportedly offset the weaker than usual competition on television that night, especially from sports.

In a recent interview with Sportsnet, NXT head booker Shawn Michaels gave his thoughts about how much fun he is having in his current role in WWE for their NXT brand. Michaels stated “I’m having a great deal of fun. Obviously, some of it is the youth of the NXT locker room. Other than that, the social team seems to be having a lot of fun with me. I’m just doing my best to not do anything too stupid. My children are already used to being embarrassed by their father, so I may continue that down the road.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Fightful, AJ Styles gave his thoughts about the online criticisms over his new entrance theme song in WWE. Styles stated “Listen, if you’re trying to compare it to my recent WWE music, you’re not going to like it at first, but you’ll give it a listen, you’ll hear it a lot more, and you’ll go, ‘You know what, it’s actually pretty good.’ So just give it some time. You’ll like it. I like it. I mean, I helped. I don’t want to say that I did any work but we helped put things where we wanted it and the kind of style I wanted to have.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Cultaholic, Chelsea Green gave her thoughts about being interested in making a potential return appearance to TNA Wrestling and who she would want to face in a match as part of WWE and TNA’s current talent crossover partnership. Green stated “Definitely Jordynne [Grace] because I want another run at that Knockouts Title. I held it a few years back. Wanna hold it again. I may or may not have sent a little feeler text to one Tommy Dreamer to say that Little Miss P and I, my Scottish thistle, would be happy to wrestle for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. I always love to take on my little demon Rosemary, but I also wouldn’t mind seeing my husband Matt Cardona and Steph De Lander take on me and I’m not sure yet. I’m not sure what man. I find them all very annoying, and smelly and sweaty. Maybe [former TNA stars] Drew [McIntyre], maybe Bobby Lashley.” (Transcript h/t: Cultaholic.com)
In a recent interview with Cultaholic, Bayley gave her thoughts about her interest in potentially wrestling a match in Marigold in the future. Bayley stated “The more that it’s been happening, it really didn’t hit me that it was possible until I saw Jordynne Grace come out on NXT. I immediately texted Hunter [Triple H] and texted Shawn [Shawn Michaels]. I wanted to be at the show. ‘I would love to be front row for this. It’s a historic match.’ Just to get my face out there. ‘Hey, I’m watching. I’m the champion. Can you consider me if we ever do something with TNA.’ I would love to do that just because it’s different, it’s exciting. It’s something that people will remember and the fans can really feel how real this all is. It’s such a cool time in the business. Doing things like that is such an unpredictability that gets people excited in different ways. I would love to do something like that. Marigold. Rossy [Rossy Ogawa], I’m down. I’ve wrestled a couple times in Japan with WWE. I got invited to go to Japan right before I got signed but I couldn’t do it.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with ESPN, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave his thoughts about his in-ring return to WWE this past April. Johnson stated “I felt like that was a representation and a reflection of what I was feeling because as you know, in pro wrestling, there is no take two, you get one night, one shot and one opportunity. Leading up into WrestleMania, the training camp, the pressure, the expectation, the deliverable, everything, that quote kept coming back to my mind, which was, ‘I just want to go the distance’ and going the distance meant I knew that we had almost an hour planned, which as you know, is a long f—ing time. I also had something to prove to myself. … It’s always you vs. you. So that’s something to prove to myself that I can do it and put in the work and put in the training camp and rely on my dance partners in the ring in Cody and Seth and Roman as we all relied on each other. But yeah, I just want to go the distance.” Johnson also gave his thoughts about his potential in-ring future for WrestleMania 41. Johnson stated “We’re on the 1-yard line to create the biggest WrestleMania of all time and the biggest match of all time at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. I’ll just leave it at that, Final Boss style.“
WWE recently announced one new match for this week’s NXT show on June 18th:
- Women’s Triple Threat Tag Team match – Roxanne Perez & Lola Vice vs. Meta-Four (Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson) vs. Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx
