More on Dijak’s Contract Expiration & Departure from WWE, Dijak on Having No Interest in Listening to WWE Contract Offer

As noted before, Dijak announced on Thursday that his contract with WWE expires today and he will be leaving the company. Dijak also announced that WWE never bothered to have talks with him for a potential new deal and waited until the last moment to inform him that they would not be renewing his deal.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Dijak was notified by WWE officials that he would not be re-signed to a new deal at some point after his WWE Speed match with Xavier Woods that was filmed in the last couple of weeks. Sapp reported that it is currently not known when WWE officials made the decision to not renew Dijak’s deal.

Sapp reported that Dijak had informed him in an interview that will be released on Friday afternoon that he has a theory that WWE had planned to let his deal expire for a while now.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that his sources stated that Dijak was well liked in both WWE and their NXT brand. Brennan reported that those spoken to confirmed that Dijak was originally set for an NXT Championship match before he was called back up to the main roster following this year’s WWE Draft. NXT head official and booker Shawn Michaels reportedly was stated to have been a big supporter of Dijak, even with some minor creative differences between them in the past. Talent spoken to stated that they were often surprise that Dijak wasn’t a regular member on RAW after being called up. This was something Dijak reportedly stated to Sapp in the upcoming interview about how he knew something was wrong when WWE officials had no creative plans for the first couple of weeks after he was called up.

Sapp reported that Dijak was not brought to RAW tapings several times after his call-up and when he was, his plans would often get moved between WWE Main Event and WWE Speed tapings instead. WWE officials reportedly never had planned for Dijak to make an appearance on RAW.

One source close to Dijak reportedly stated that there were early preludes to contract negotiations that had begun and they were positive but WWE officials did not reach out to him again until he was informed that his current deal would not be renewed.

In regards to the reaction over Dijak’s departure announcement, Sapp reported that the general reaction from those within WWE was one of shock. One former WWE talent spoken to reportedly stated that 20 years ago Dijak “would have had a job till his legs fell off.”

Sapp reported that there is currently a lot of interest in Dijak both inside and outside of wrestling with at least two promotions are expected to reach out to him for potential appearances and major companies reportedly have been in contract with his management.

Former WWE talents Mace and Mansoor held a recent Twitch stream featuring Dijak as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Dijak’s thoughts about his upcoming departure from WWE and not being interested in listening to a contract offer from the company.

“I guess if they wanted to make me an offer right now, they could. At this point, I’m not terribly interested in listening to it, just by the nature of a WWE contract. They can hire you and release you for no reason. They could pull a fast one on me. ‘You’re re-hired. Just kidding. You’re fired.”

In response to a question from Mansoor about if he would consider returning to WWE if they were to offer him a WWE Speed Championship reign, Dijak stated:

“No. If they came to me with some massive number or some promises or something like that. At this point, I would consider getting it in writing.”
