Friday’s Super Viernes event for Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Chris Jericho making a surprise appearance for the company.
Following Esfinge, Místico & Volador Jr.’s victory over Ángel de Oro, Averno, & Euforia in a Trios match, Mistico celebrated and waved at fans before being suddenly attacked by a mysterious masked person. After laying out Mistico, this mystery person unmasked revealing himself to be Chris Jericho. Jericho grabbed a microphone and issued a challenge to Mistico for a match at next week’s Super Viernes event on Friday, July 5th. Mistico responded accepting the match to make it official.

Besides Jericho’s appearance, Friday’s event was also notable for Atlantis Jr. defeating Kyle Fletcher to be crowned the new ROH World Television Champion. Following the match, Fletcher congratulated Atlantis Jr. on his championship victory and issued a challenge for the title at a future event in his own home turf of Ring of Honor. Atlantis Jr. responded accepting the challenge.
