AEW Injury Updates for Mark Davis, The Blade, & Kota Ibushi

As noted before, Aussie Open’s Mark Davis has been out of action for AEW since this past October’s WrestleDream event due to a broken wrist injury. Besides Davis, The Blade has also been out of action since this past March due to a lower back injury. Kota Ibushi has also been out of action since this past January due to injuries to both of his ankles.

In regards to Davis’ injury status, Kyle Fletcher stated in a recent interview with WGN Radio 720 that there is still no timetable in mind for his tag partner Davis’ in-ring return from injury.

“I can’t speak exactly on what’s going on right now with him. I think that’s his story to tell, I don’t want to be that person but he’s doing good. He will definitely be back at some stage, we don’t have an exact timeline but yeah, I can’t wait to get back in the ring with him.”

In regards to The Blade’s injury status, a recent K & S WrestleFest virtual fan signing event had The Blade as the guest. One of the topics discussed included The Blade providing an update on his injury recovery and potential date for his in-ring return.

“I’m just on injury reserve right now but yes, still with the company (AEW).

I’m hoping so (to be back before All In). My back’s bad. It’s slowly but surely getting better but I’m hoping to be back in a couple months and I hope to be back by then… A lot of wear and tear… Might be (having surgery). That’s what we’re in the midst of right now.”

In regards to Ibushi’s injuries status, Ibushi provided an update this past Monday on Twitter stating that he is still feeling some discomfort in his left ankle but is continuing rehabilitation at the hospital.

“Discomfort in left ankle. My inner ankle? I wonder if there is a way to fix this in the shortest amount of time! I wonder if there is a way to fix this in the shortest amount of time. I went to quite a few places. (Hospital is continuing rehabilitation). Can anyone help me?”

In a follow-up tweet, Ibushi responded to a fan about when he might be able to return back to in-ring action for AEW.
