Eddie Kingston Leg Injury Update – Kingston Believed to Have Suffered Broken Leg Injury [Update – Kingston Suffered Tibular Fracture]

Update:

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Kingston had suffered a tibular fracture in his leg.

Johnson reported that Kingston’s exact injury was confirmed following a series of x-rays in California. Kingston reportedly is currently waiting for confirmation from his doctors on how the injury will be addressed medically.

Johnson also reported that Kingston is currently hoping to be able to return by AEW’s All In 2024 event this August but this will depend on whether surgery will be required.

As noted before, Eddie Kingston suffered an apparent leg injury at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Resurgence 2024 event this past Saturday in Ontario, California. AEW confirmed the injury during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show and Kingston also confirmed his injury on Instagram.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the table breaking spot involving the guard rail for Kingston’s No Ropes, Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at the event was the actual planned finish for their match and Kingston was not meant to get up to beat the ten count regardless of his injury situation.

Meltzer reported that Kingston’s injury was a topic of discussion backstage at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show and the general belief from those within AEW was the Kingston had suffered a broken leg injury. Meltzer reported that this is something he had yet to confirm to be the exact injury from his sources.

AEW officials reportedly had originally been hopeful that Kingston had not suffered a serious injury but were informed this past Monday that he had suffered a potential broken leg. This reportedly led to AEW officials changing their plans for Kingston for this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show and for the scheduled Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2024 event.
